[Voxels] Voxel Vehicles Pack 1.0

This is a pack of static decorative voxel vehicles for ZDoom and GZDoom. Guaranteed to to give some life to your maps!

Instructions: Since voxel model collisions are handled like sprite collisions, only the very center parts of the vehicles are solid initially. You have to provide additional collision areas with bridge things. To see how they are laid out on each vehicle, see the demonstration level. If you want to remove the demonstration level, just remove the maps directory from the PK3 file. The vehicles occupy DoomEd numbers 10600 through 10803.

This looks very nice, but the shading just doesn't look "gritty" enough for DOOM. It would be nice if you could break up some of the larger areas of solid color. Other than that minor problem, those are some very good looking vehicles you have there!

I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of voxels. I think that most of the sprite replacements look blockier and generally pretty ugly versus their sprite counterparts (the soul sphere perhaps being one of the worst). There is something about the 3D block-ness of them that makes them look more jaggy and "pixelated" than sprites do (IMO of course). They look like someone made the sprites out of lego - and not the new cunningly shaped bits either, just the bog standard blocks.

All that being said, I do quite like these models and they are nicely made. I especially like the Blade Runner style flying police vehicle. I don't see myself as being likely to make much use of them but I do see why some people say that they look better alongside sprites than MD2/3 models do and these vehicles are a great resource that could fit right in to a number of projects.

Voxel models are limited to 25x256x256. Vehicles are not small objects. If you scale them down to make them look high-res, they will be tiny. If you want large objects that look like Doomguy could actually enter inside and drive it without having to cut his legs off first, then you will need to endure big voxels.

Really? I'm pretty sure translations are disabled for voxels.

I replaced the car in the massmouth whit the model of a green flying car, and I got this

those cars that were in the massmouth were green (so they could change color), like that car i placed in.

Well, somebody made a voxel Ranger player sprite replacement, so I guess it's possible.
