When exactly did this become a competition? Seriously. Ventris' rationale is logical and enforced with real world examples. Your Crash sprite very definitely started out as a stylised female Doom marine. There's a place for both.

My own position is: I'll use whichever gets vweps first and that is covered up just like the male version is. Pretty simple. I'm sure your attitude in this topic would outright turn other people off your Crash skin though.

Can I just reiterate, when i posted the fully armoured version, i had the same idea, ill even quote some of my posts for you in my topic:
well i tried it both ways with green, but it looked plain, and with just skin it looked wrong (im going with a non provocative marine), so i kept it plain metal from the crash skin
I think its the fact that Im working with a 38x57 pixel sprite, and conveying femininity is hard to do, especially since she wears a helmet. I have no problem in cladding her in "realistic" marine armour, as I've already posted a full chestplated version that very much downplays her boobs.

I guess I dont want to be a sprite artist responsible for fanservice.

Okay, look, I don't want to continue pushing the issue here, but you are seriously lacking in reading comprehension. Let me break this down for you.
Captain Ventris wrote:It doesn't need more curves because body armor doesn't show curves. Here are pictures of real body armor supporting this position.
And just so you won't have to quote yourself anymore, I'll sum up:
Virtue wrote:But you need curves because femininity! I made one and it's realistic and also has curves! Mine didn't have cleavage hanging out until people made me make it that way!
If anyone wants to continue this [censored word] argument, feel free to form a giant quote pyramid of quoting each other quoting this post. It'll be every bit as effective and just about as entertaining to watch.

TBH, let Ventris decide what his slender/feminine Doom Marine looks like. This discussion looks like the same one from the other Doomgirl thread.

These sprites are looking pretty cool. I like them, but Virtue are cool as well. I'm with GooberMan though, and I'll wait to see how vweps go before deciding which I really want to use. (I'll probably end up using both of them at some point though.)

I happen to like Ventris' sprites. I told him on IRC that I would certainly use them, which obligates him to finish. :P

Shouldn't that be in a spoiler with a NSFW warning on it? :P

So, uh, how about them 3/7 frames?

The first sprite looks like the persons wearing a pair of UGGs that don't fit. Others are alright, but those legs look like they need a little meat.

Yeah, The legs on these frames really show the photography method of spriting iD did. I had some trouble figuring out what I was looking at. :P I'll look e'm over.

EDIT:
Redid the legs on the first frame. I had reduced leg width by one pixel before, and for some reason I reduced width from both sides of the legs for these frames. I've rectified that here, and the result does seem better.

Though the Doomguy's boots do kind of look like Uggs! :P

It also explains why Doomguy is so fast.

Okay, the second draft of the 3/7 frames is in the OP.
