MIDFON* characters in eternity/base/doom/eternity.wad (r2201+ only). Most characters by Id Software, additional characters by Quasar and esselfortium.

Hadn't seen that, no, although I was aware that at one point someone brought up the readability of some of the characters (I think it was Enjay). Is it that big a problem for anyone else? What about the uppercase letters?

I can try and make some edits to the letters, although I like the way they're stylized right now and further edits might make them look a bit too different. I'll give it a whack, though.

It was indeed me. I did find those characters difficult to read and it meant that, in some cases, I had to read a word or more twice, thereby not finishing by the time the message disappeared. It's a great looking font but those two characters need a little tweak IMO.

I agree with Enjay. Some characters are a little hard to distinguish at first, especially the "A" and "H".

I like the 8px Zdoom font. A couple characters are kind of hard to distinguish at first, though.

Now I just have to get the menu options to recolor themselves. MAPINFO has not availed me so far. :P

EDIT: JK was putting a hexidecimal color instead of a name, like a doofus.

Yesh :)

Although perhaps the pixel that I have highlighted in pink could do with a further tweak. Perhaps darker?

Yes, what enjay said, those "H" look like "A"

Thank you.

Unfortunately, some of the letters need a bit of aligning. The h and n can be seen in this shot:

Looks like an issue with irregular image sizes. (I'd say it's pretty crazy to not have a font be monosized/monospace.)

A lot, but not all, of the characters have a Y offset of -1. I *think* all the lower case letters have that value except h and n so the fix is presumably to give them that offset.
