Why not try boris' random map idea generator?

Think of an area (or more), build them, and keep in mind they need to be linked together.

I've got a better idea - make a map based on anything you want.

Build a warehouse map.
The player has to kill ridiculous numbers of Spidermasterminds which guard a big computer and
destroy a few big computer

Hmm...mockery anyone?

Build a vast torn apart hellish starbase map.
The player has to kill a few Arch-Viles and
find a spaceport which is hidden behind ridiculous numbers of lost UAC machine

Heh.
