ZHalloween [is this even still being worked on?!]

The name of the music program is not Fractal Mus, but FractMus 2000, sorry. Here's some files I generated from it; please feedback.

Also, I'm not a great composer, but I know something good when I hear it, and I think these are good atmosphere, but I don't really know good combinations of instruments, etc, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, those MIDI clips (creepy and cellar) are awesome. I haven't listened to any of the others.

Hmmm, the music sounds less spooky and more suspenseful if anything, and neither loop very well :(

Not bad Caligari, just not exactly what being looked for ;)

These are only samples; I could do better looping on them if needed.

Also, how do you define "spooky" versus "suspenseful"? I thought they were pretty scary myself. Of course, I could be biased. :wink: I'd love to do the music for this project , so I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to make it better.

EDIT: Those graphics are nice, but it looks like you just drew some blood in paint with the pencil tool. Darken the blood a little to look more like the images, and add some texture to it, not just one color.

You could e-mail DoomWorld and/or NewDoom about it. I know sometimes they'll mention that these types of projects have started. They might post a news item about it for you....

@ Caligari_87 - Well, it's hard to provide a perfect definitinon, but I think a good example would be scary-head-spin from the musics I uploaded, but of course, I could ALSO be biased ;) (even though they are not mine)

Umm, you nkow you could just sign up for one of those on-line storage file-sharing thingies.

By te way, if you visit NewDoom today, on the frontpage, the first news item about your ZHalloween WAD, Kirby! See, DoomDude got it done for you. I think you should have made it perfectly clear when you were telling him about the WAD that you need help with it but even this should be good because it'll get some attention. Now we'll have to see ifLinguica or someone else at DoomWorld will care to post a news item about this for you (though I doubt it, because if I rememebr correctly Linguica tends to get pissy about peope pimping their own projects). You could try other people at DoomWorld too (people who post news items), but I doubt it'll do much. If I still had news posting access on DoomRepubic I'd post the news for you but as it is when you visit the site it's "DoomRepublic oh no wait I mean Doom3.co.uk".... :lol:

Ooh, news item... Nice. Yeah, I've tended to notice that New Doom gives more spotlight to community wads and projects and stuff of that nature, while DoomWorld has more on... Well, news about Doom and stuff. Of course, DoomWorld has TNC... But yeah...

But I want this to start... Maybe I can throw in my Room that I've made, just for good measure. Think of it... Everything goes black, and you wake up in this room. With no apparent exit (the door is sealed, the window is barred. Walk around, see what's going on, then all of a sudden, you're back outside. Weird, kinda creepy, and yet could be worked into the story somewhat.

Now all I need to do is find a good siren... Like one of those air-raid/tornado sirens... Yes... Excellent...

BTW if you're looking for a siren sound, maybe you can rip the one from the They Hunger trilogy.
