I am going to make a bubble gun come into DooM life. This weapon came from Neopets and I got a plasma rifle sprite (PLASA0) from Doom, made it more like Neopets and I drawn the middle bit using my imagination.

Anybody want this weapon in DooM?

My idea for a bubble gun for DooM is that it fires faster than a plasma rifle and uses a different kind of cell (bubble gun cells) and the ammo has a capacity of 800 shots (1600 shots when the backpack is under possession of the Doomguy).

Cooling time is longer than the plasma rifle because it fires SO fast, the gun gets hotter than the plasma gun while firing, how about a fan sound for it's cool down sequence?

Can somebody do the first person sprites for me? Possibly NMN could be cut out to make this bubble gun's first person sprites.

The sprite name is BBGN (buBBle GuN)
BBGNA0=idle
BBGNB0=firing before recoil
BBGNC0=firing while recoil
BBGND0=cooling
BBGNE0-BBGNI0=reloading

What a gun!

The muzzle flash's sprite name is BGNF (Bubble GuN Flash)

The flash is only applied for BBGNB0 and BBGNC0.

The capitals on the long sprite names are for translation to 4-letter sprite identifiers used by the DooM engine and keep the first-person view sprites DooM-style!

On ground sprite by GDM413229, original sprite by id Software, Thanks id Software for the plasma rifle!

Ha! Buff that Cacodemon up a bit, and it'd look pretty interesting as a boss. ;)

Given the size of a cacodemon's mouth (and face) and the lack of a neck for the facehugger to wrap it's tail around, I'd imagine they're pretty safe from that particular threat. If the acid was an issue then they'd probably suffer a whole lot from trying to eat it after it had jumped into it's mouth though!

As for Enjay's question... Darker, no eye(s), a bit of a tail and a sleeker appearance would be my guess. Sort of like the D3 cacodemon actually, but with less visible eyes!

Yes, that would make sense. Presumably with a bit of "Giger-esque" biomechanical detailing and perhaps quite a smooth, shiny finish to the top of the head (er... body?) to complete the picture.

Perhaps the horns would be replaced with those heat stack tube things too?

If an alien was born from an imp, I imagine it would be fairly standard. Might be a bit spiky and heat resistant though, and less intelligent. :lol:

Reminds me of that scene from Ao Oni Jikkyou. Where he's grasping onto the bars.

Well, that blows. The way you were working on it, I figured there'd be a complete set in another week or something. If you don't mind my asking, what's got it hung up? The mask?

Yes, I thought it looked like a "nearly there" sprite sheet as well.

I hope you get a chance to get back to it sometime Jabberwock.

Meh. I spent a few hours recolouring an entire set for a boss I'm making, By the time I was done I was more than ready to hit the hay.

It's ... fearful and nice! :shock:
I think it would be more badass if the hands glow is orange/red instead of green.

It's very good, indeed, but i think maybe you could do recolor with translations instead of truly changing the sprites. I mean, would take less time :)
