You apparently missed my entire point.

Starting with a 128 brightness room, then putting in a skylight that glares down at 255 brightness, it's not going to look that great. Much better to "diffuse" the light by making the room brighter (and possibly the sky lighting dimmer, if it's a "cloudy day").

I like the drama of high contrast sometimes, to be honest. That's usually why I do it. The high light diffusion is a nice touch as well though and another one that I've tried out on occaission. It seems to me that it's more unfortunate that some people seem to think we're slaves to reality with what we map.

Spent a decent amount of time actually finishing that level system. Finally works pretty well.

I was wondering, is it okay to use original doom maps as a base? I want to make a map based on Perfect Hatred and i was wondering if i could use the base map and horribly butcher it beyond recognizition.

Yes, you're allowed to derive maps from id maps (see: kdizd), however, the resultant map must only run with the IWAD the map came from (excluding shareware, derived e1 maps should run on registered/ultimate doom, of course). If you derived a Doom 1 map, it could only run in Doom 1. If you derived a Doom II map, it can only run in Doom II, and ect. I think the idgames archive does forbid derived maps, but it's perfectly OK to make them.

The few maps i made are really bad (the only GOOD one i have is horribly glitched in some places thanks to curve tool abuse) but heh, i'm training :P

Try to fix my "halo plasma grenade" that i abandon like years ago, and ended up with something totally different.

Working on sprites and sound and purdy it up lol.

How do you control projectile direction when thrown? Right now it just "lobs" it
