Classes - Are they necessary?

Yes. Buff up the charmer class already and finish this thing.

I know I know.. I'm just trying to give the people a little more bang for thier patient buck..

And besides, I'm pretty good at ironing out glitches, so long as everyone knows what source port I'm using and what-not...

Small tweaks so far-------- (I'm stating it in a post since nobody looks at the front page)

- Added charmer.. He's fast... Too fast.. I'm gonna have him run regular speed, and the tank can do about 0.7 speed (Since the "Spy" does half speed)

- "Tank" Class will have 500 armor that absorbs 95% damage, and a new suit of armor will be at a supply drop every level, along with a grenade or two. (And other things)

- In the supply drop there will be a special punch-activated knuckle-sensor that will only open the door to the "Tank armor", if punched by a tank.

- The tank class will have very powerful fists, able to kill guards in 3-5 swipes, his grenades will be touch-sensetive and will have a LARGE blast radius, (Great for taking out
a large horde of enemies you'd normally have to sneak past a completely different way if you were a spy)

- All this detail to actors and DECORATE means the maps that will be made will be VERY intricate in mission detail and what you have to do, just like in hitman..

In fact I might call apon the assistance of an ACS guy to help me out with scripting possible cutscenes, special objectives, time limits, mission conditions,
of just all-around extra pizazz... (Though if nobody available steps forward I/the wad, will be just fine without such features)

So far it seems the classes went well...

The spy is balanced, but the tank is overpowered, and the charmer is underpowered..

The tank can directly take on at least 2-4 guards a level (Even more if they can be cornered), and his grenade basically incinerates anything at a LARGE radius...

The charmer, not being able to fight OR go invisible, can only bribe 2 guards directly, leaving only his speed as his advantage until he runs across some personnel..
(Which can get you out of a pinch, but not if your in a building)

I want to try to make levels that suit all three classes in thier own special way, but these levels in the demo were specially made for the spy since the other classes didn't exist yet, (For example, the charmer fails at MAP02 epicly..) so I need to beef up the charmer, and slim down the tank...

Planned changes for tank:

- Grenade will have same range but half damage
- armor will only absorb 80% damage
- Give civilians A_Alertmonsters on death so he can't "Stealthfully" kill them in map02
- His health will be reduced back to 100 and regenerate slowly.

Planned changes for charmer:

Give me some suggestions!

My ethernet cables arrived and I'm going to be spending the rest of today (And maybe tomorrow) moving my computer, but continue with the suggestions and I'll look at them when I get back!

The tank has been nerfed, and I'm trying to find a way to buff the charmer.. I was thinking maybe he could access special locked doors for shortcuts so he wouldn't have to play tag with the guards, but that's the only worth-while idea I've got..

Give me some suggestions on what you think I should do with him. Read the front page, think about it, turn in a vote, and tell me what you think the charmer is missing..

Since killing civilians seems to be an occasional necessity and a possible conundrum: The "charmer" could be able to "lure" civilians to follow him? Bring them to a secluded spot and get what he needs.

You know... if you put some Strife dialogues in this game, you could give the charmer class a quest item that gives them unique dialogue options. They might not have to kill civilians to get their job done.

What I would like (READ: would play feverishly for hours/spread propaganda about how good it is forever/etc) is someone to make an (when I say 'styled', I do not mean running around MAP(is it 05?) - Tricks and Traps with a wrist blade, I mean Assassin's Creed in/as-close-to-in ZDoom as possible) Assassin's Creed-styled ZDoom mod, but picture this:

The gameplay/story/setting/etc of Assassin's Creed 1, combined/bio-engineered with the stealth engine of Thief 2/3.

I would worship someone who made a (READ: good) mod like that.
I mean, seriously.

I would worship them all day and all night. I wouldn't give a sh*t if they didn't want to be worshipped.

P.S. I say this because I love randomly running around killing people/acting like some kind of epic warrior/prototype-style thief hybrid and doing parkour in Assassin's Creed, while I enjoy hiding people's bodies and stealthily assassinating people in Thief 2 and 3. Make the connection. Seriously, if you could run up walls in Thief, I would play it all day.

If you could act like a motherf*cking assassin in Assassin's Creed, I would play it all day. Out for real, this time.
