Doom Expanded [Release]
This is my own personal enhancement wad for the Doom games. It uses many elements from other enhancement wads, bringing together my favorite aspects of each.
The only thing I claim ownership over is the smooth animated BFG 9000 which can learn more about here: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=28543
Use it however you like,it's free to anyone who wants it. It's not perfect, but I don't expect to be. If you wish to leave any comments, complaints, bug/issues, additions/recommendations, etc., please let me know.

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
I saw some pretty sweet stuff in here, but I need to know (for proper credit) who made what in this?

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
Alright, Here goes:
Weapons, ammo, armor, keys, barrels, powerups, basically any pickup item sound decorate info are from Kinsie's Doom Enhanced: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f= ... m+Enhanced
Blood, gibs, etc. from Nash's...well...NashGore wad.
Additional blood decals and translations from Sergeant_Mark_IV's Brutal Doom: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=28920
Additional effects and animation from zer0 aka Jekyll Grim Payne's Beautiful Doom v.5
Smooth weapons from Perkristian's Smooth Weapon Animation Wad.
Sounds from Doom Enhanced, Brutal Doom, Beautiful Doom, ConsoleDoom.wad, and Perkristian's High-res sounds wad.
Miscellaneous weapons decorate code from ZDoom users Alvas, Scalliano, and Alice Jameson.
Does this help?

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
I guess, but one main thing I thought was cool and wanted to know about was the mancubus and arachnotron alt deaths

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
The alt deaths for the Mancubus and Arachnotron both originally hail from Brutal Doom. They were originally designed as XDeaths (explosion based). Expanded.wad was designed to be a more faithful approach to the game so the sprites were made into alt deaths, enhanced with some NashGore gib effects. It's mainly about having the sprites and the correct decorate information to make these work.

For those who have downloaded this wad already, please be aware: A new PK3 version will be released here soon and feature some new stuff. I will post it when it's finished.
Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
This is a cool little mod. I personally like these kind of mods best, doesn't actually change the gameplay but changes the feel of the game for the better. Nice job!

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
Perhaps I'm naive or something, but I can't honestly tell what sets this apart from other mods you mentioned (Brutal Doom, Beautiful Doom, etc.) other than the BFG animation.

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
It's not meant to, it's just the personal enhancement wad I've been working on for a good while now. I'm just giving it to people so if they wanted something that sticks to the normal Doom gameplay and only change things that would enhance it, but not go against the original style of gameplay. I'm not in this for a popularity contest, I already sort of gave this away on another thread, so I thought I just make an official thread for it. If you enjoy using it, that's all that matters. Also, letting me know if there are problems would be nice too.

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
It doesn't look like I've been credited for the Soul Cube sprites you've been using.... It was kind of a collaboration between Alvas, Scalliano, and myself. Who all contributed to various aspects of it. I think it would be fair to have those who worked on it receive credit.

Re: Doom Expanded [Release]
You and Scalliano are now listed in the credits. I'm sorry if I left you guys out, I've only talked with Alvas and thought he was the only one working on it.
Just so you know, I did make some minor edits to your guy's work. I added sounds from Doom 3 mainly for picking up the cube and throwing it. I also edited ACS text a little. I left the line "NEED MORE SOULS" blank because it kinda took up an unnecessary amount of the bottom screen, and it was kind of annoying. Especially since it tells you that you need more when you try to use it anyway. I also changed "FREE US" to "USE US" to be more in line with Doom 3. Changed the text color to red and moved it to the left edge of the screen and up slightly as not to collided with the Automap's level name (especially the longer names).
Other than that, nothing else is different about this mod. I merely added it in to Expanded after I was finished with it and mixed it in with some of the existing gore effects.
