I am turning to my fellow mappers to help me out a bit with possibly aquiring some environment maps.
WADFATHER has been down for some time now. Gamespy no longer has the website in their network and Mr. Gibs always throws this message
Doing a Google search yielded this info
therefore, there is not much hope that Mr. Gibs will resurrect the website.
There were 552 environment maps available, of which I had downloaded 149 over some time. If you have any of the rest, it would be greatly appreciated if you could make them available. The ones I have, I uploaded as 4 files, each about 70MB
I believe all of those are still hosted on FilePlanet (example). Unfortunately, searching "wadfather" at FilePlanet doesn't find anything. You could probably get the missing ones if you had the file names.

With 259 views to date and only two zdoomers contributing, it seems that the interest for skybox environment maps just isn't there.
Please note, since the files I uploaded to drdteam are taking up most of the allowable space for my account, they will not be available forever.
If someone else has some stashed on their harddrive or know of a web location, please, make them available.
It would be great if we could assemble all 552 ems.

A permanent home for them would benefit everybody who is into mapping.
Where there is a choice of 256 or 512, only the 512 would be needed.

I based the notion of general lack of interest on now over 300 views and only 2 downloads of my files on drdteam. I might as well not have bothered. However, since the subject of WADFATHER being down crops up from time to time, I thought to make available what I have.

Just because people aren't rabidly downloading the entire archive doesn't mean there's no interest; there just may not be a need right now. Besides, the user base here is actually relatively small. Maybe you should open up a new front end site to replace WadFather and advertise it on Doomworld, etc.
If there was one big package with all of them inside, I'd get it; but I'm not interested at the moment in downloading dozens upon dozens of individual files. (If at least the links were direct links, I could just use DownThemAll to grab everything and call it a day, but that's not possible with DRD Team's file share service, nor with MediaFire/RapidShare/MegaUpload/FileFront/whatever.)
I added this thread to the Resource Bookmarks thread, but if someone doesn't condense all of these into a single file, I really don't see them being available for long...
I don't have the means to download each and every one, but if someone would download them all and get them to me somehow, I would gladly sort and store them on my MediaFire account with the rest of my resources.
