I bought Minecraft. Now I'm stuck wondering how to mass fires since I don't start with a tool to make fires or torches...

Torches are important, and easy! All you need is a piece of coal and a stick!

However, you'll need a pickaxe to get any coal whatsoever. Always start with chopping down (punching down) trees for making basic tools!

Well I figured out already I needed a pickaxe so I made two wooden ones until I can make stronger ones, but Kinda frustrated with how slowly making trees is. I left the island I was on a few times already to stock up and FINALLY got some stuff to make the tool for starting fires.

Next is to store all sorts of stuff before cranking up the difficulty. I'm tired of losing everything in my inventory when I die because I can't see at night.
