at first, I thought you said "it makes him something other than a hairless mook"Ethril wrote:It's a wizard. The more facial hair a wizard has, the more powerful he becomes. Plus, it makes him something else than a faceless mook. It's the difference between "Oh, just an enhanced Disciple", and "Whoa, a wizard!"CaptainToenail wrote:makes him seem more vulnerable
wouldn't want your wizard to look like this
Spoiler:anyway, I did this yesterday, as a replacement for the high jump rune

Not bad, but plain. I'll have to strap some blue flame rockets to the bottom or something.
I have some plans for spriting a Gzdoom-quality version of the Dual Neutron Disruptor (from Blake Stone, Aliens of Gold). I came up with some schematic sketches (of how the parts are going to work) and I already can't wait to put this thing together and see it in action.

Making him walk on four legs isn't really that hard, it's just kinda tedious. I played around with that idea a few months ago..+:icytux:+. wrote:

I suggest using it for a Mauler demon from KDiZD/old Monster resource pack. It really needs unique sprite set since in KDiZD it uses Eriance Blood Fiend and in MRW it uses awful recolor of demon..+:icytux:+. wrote:

Yeah, agreed. It needs little beady eyes though.
Was messing around with stuff from Monkee's Image World. This is a former-militant.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of Wolfenstein/Blake Stone edits being used in Doom, especially when big projects use them. The only one I've ever seen that looked good at all was an edit of the scientist from Blake Stone. Other than that, they all look sorely out of place due to a massive difference in shading and contrast. Blake Stone's sprites appear to be lit from a light aiming straight at them, whereas Doom sprites have the light applied to them up and to the side. Unless somebody were to make a set of Blake Stone sprites with the shading fixed, they're really always going to look crummy.
I bring this up because the sprite above comes from a sprite set that I believe was based in part off of that fat blue security guard from Blake Stone. It's not a bad sprite, but the lighting is all wrong and there's nearly no contrast.

I agree with NeuralStunnerCaptainToenail wrote:Aww, how about a mini-lich?
I'd extend the lower part of it down a bit more, since it got cut off it looks more like a golden bell than a helmet

It's using some (unused?) sprites from Shadowcaster as a base. There's a giant version of Zardaz's helmet for some unknown reason. And yes it looks like a bell.

What, you could call them "brassy knells" or something cute like that.
