Heh. Thanks.
I really should try and make a video comparing my old ICD-Lizard mod with this one. Oh the fun and hilarious things you'll see when you compare them. If the naysayers thought the graphics in The Exterminator were crappy, then they're going to really have a laugh looking back at ICD-Lizard!

1: Modify the death state of the EXT-Spawner class to look like this:lizardcommando wrote:Well, I'm glad the item's basic function works, but there's a small problem to it (besides the one you pointed out). I want it so that when I use the item, I throw the SupportBeacon and it would take a second or two until it activates, teleporting a friend. You know, kinda like how the Teleport Beacon or Dudukrazy's friend spawner works. Not sure if that makes sense or not... Also, is there a way to increase how far it gets thrown before being activated?
Code: Select all
Death:
PTRB A 70
TELX A 0 BRIGHT A_PlaySound("WLIceShot/icechargeup")
TELX A 2 BRIGHT A_SetTranslucent(0.4)
TELX B 2 BRIGHT A_SetTranslucent(0.5)
TELX C 2 BRIGHT A_SetTranslucent(0.6)
TELX D 2 BRIGHT
TELX E 2 BRIGHT
TELX F 2 BRIGHT
TELX G 6
TELX H 1 A_SpawnItemEx("ExtBuddy",0,0,0,0,0,0,0,SXF_NOCHECKPOSITION)
Stop
2: Increase the speed of the EXT-Spawner

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Oh cool. That's better now .
I'm gonna try to add in one more enemy and then try to get the molotov cocktails fixed. If I can't get the molotov cocktails fixed by the new enemy completed, I'll still release it. I mean, they're still function, just a wee bit buggy.
I just fixed the inventory icon's location, so that no longer needs attention.

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Nah, it's not actually a Lizard enemy. It's a security drone-type enemy that's going to replace the Lost Soul. Marty Kirra and me were talking about it a little bit a few days ago. I still need to come up with some concept art for it.

Yes, it even comes complete with the "!" sound from Metal Gear Solid. It took me two and a half hours to come up with the concept. Originally, it didn't have that laser turret at the bottom of it until I decided to add it in.

nice, Metal Gear Solid-like gameplay into the enemies.
you know what i think since you added in that thing, i think there should be a third pistol, a silenced one.

Nah. I already have the Silenced Tactical Machine Pistol. I don't think there's a need for a silenced pistol. Besides, there's a total 3 pistols already in the game: The .45 Pistol, 9mm Pistol and the .357 Magnum.

So here's a new trailer for my mod. I kinda wish I recorded in-game sound with it. Oh well.

...And for some reason, the youtube tag doesn't work. So here's a direct link instead.

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Here's the last beta (for now) for my mod. Besides the custom HUDs (Big thanks to Zhs2 for implementing it!), I added in a new enemy, the Security Drone (AKA Probey) which replaces the Lost Soul. I also remade sprites for two of the enemies, the Barney Calhoun Lizard and Mafia Lizard. I also changed some of the enemy attacks like the Level Armor. It actually shoots projectiles now instead of having a hitscan attack. I also remade the graphics for the Silenced Machine Pistol and placed the Molotov Cocktails back in the mod, although that weapon is still a bit buggy. There's also a new inventory item, the Support Beacon, which lets you summon a fellow Exterminator (although, they're a bit on the stupid side...). There's probably some other stuff I did with it, but I kinda forgot what it was I did... Anyways, click the link below.
extermbeta12.zip - 2.32MB
So here's a quick rundown on what's new with this version:

So here's a quick rundown on what's new with this version:
- *There's a brand new Fullscreen and Statusbar HUD! Big thanks to Zhs2 for implementing it!
*Remade the sprites for the Barney Calhoun Lizard and Mafia Lizard.
*Added in a new enemy, the Security Drone (replaces the Lost Soul)
*Added in a new inventory item, the Support Beacon (replaces the outdated Berserk Sphere)
*Changed the long range attack for the LV Armor.
*Some minor tweaks here and there. I don't really remember what they were though...

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Well, school's just started for me and it's been a pretty crappy week so far thanks to the shitty budget cuts in California. Let's just leave it at that...
Anyways, I've been playing that SMWGuns mod and I've been inspired by the multiple death animations it has for most of the enemies so now I'm going to do the same for some of the enemies in my mod. I'm working on the new death animations for Shotgunner and Bazooka Guy. I'll try to post a new video of it in action later this month or something.

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Gotta get rid of the "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" part:
Sorry to hear about the school clusterfrack... just remember to keep your exposure to that toxic place to a minimum and learn to get the right answer while completely zoned out and you'll be fine.
Damn, this thing plays fast... maybe it's the time of night and the music I've got, but it feels like I'm doing twice the damage and have half the health XD is the player speeded up a bit?

Re: The Exterminator: Bigger Backpack Edition (New Demo release)
Player speed is the same as far as I can remember, but I did tweak the health of the enemies a bit so that they are much easier to kill. You have a better chance at survival if you play any maps with a ton of bad guys.
