Re: action doom 2
It looks pretty bland to me. There's hardly any light variation at all and I'm not digging the skybox in that last picture. The red sky looks too tacky. It could benefit from some new textures, I guess.

Looks alright, that skybox could use some detail though.

A good start. The skybox isn't very good, as other's have said. Try looking for a more natural texture, and add more details to the buildings.

Scuba Steve would turn over in his grave if he was already dead...
I really suggest choosing another title for your project as long as you are not able to match up with the quality of Action Doom 1!

Frankly, I agree, but it's up the author to make his own decisions and learn how critical the Doom community is.

Re: action doom 2
It looks reasonable, quite good in fact. I think the very bright colours could be due to the images being brightened up?
However, it doesn't look like Action Doom. IMO, a sequel to AD should bear some family resemblance to the original, and this simply doesn't.
[edit] Oh, and get a better texture for the top of those green crates. [/edit]

1) Spelling, grammar and punctuation are your friends; they make it much easier for us to understand you. The easier it is for us to understand you, the more likely it is that you'll get contructive comments from us. As has been pointed out to you before, on-line dictionaries exist, so there's no excuse for poor spelling. Grammar and punctuation will break your message down into the separate concepts that the rest of the English-speaking world call "sentences". This simple step will garner you much-needed respect on this forum. There is no excuse for making your posts as hard to read as they are. As long as they're this bad, you'll get little or no respect here.corysykes wrote:now way back ages ago i had an idea of making action doom 2 i got permission and everything ready but no one would help me and they just ranted and it relly pissed me off but then i said fark it so i started making it all on my own i made custion weapons and every thing sept not graphics and im going to post a few screenies of it here and tell me if you like it and please DONT rant this time i mean it ...
2) Why do you call this "Action Doom 2". If you use this name, people will, quite rightly, expect something like the original, but better. If you can't deliver, all you'll get will be ridicule. Riding on the reputation of another well-known release is risky; the name will give you attention, but the expectations are so much higher.
3) I question your use of the word "ranted". To quote the Spaniard, "I don't think this word means what you think it means." Frankly, if anyone is ranting it's you.
4) I'm sorry, but I have to agree with those who've already posted. The uniform lighting is, well, a bit boring. In the first shot you do have some interesting architecture, but the green tech texture showing through the walls looks as though it doesn't belong there. In the third shot the marble top of the green crates looks bizarre, as Enjay has pointed out, and the bright red skybox looks plain wrong.
5) Lastly, please don't tell us how to respond to your request for comments. You've come back to us, as we asked you previously, with screen-shots. We've commented on them. If you don't like criticism, either deal with it, or go somewhere else. Don't get all pissy with us.

Re: action doom 2
Any shots of gun-fighting? If it uses any hitscans, (except melees and BFG tracers, but the BFG could be completely redone) it's not in the spirit of Action Doom. Also, it need some different textures to look more like Action Doom, though what's done right now is fine. Why don't you ask Scuba Steve to (unless he said you can in the text file) use textures he used in Action Doom? Also, did you ask him permission at all?
Oddly, when I saw this topic, I thought of a jokewad poking fun of Action Doom called notactiondoom.wad. Completely unrelated to what you're doing here.

In the old thread, Scuba Steve said himself that someone could do something like this as long as he got credit.XutaWoo wrote:...Why don't you ask Scuba Steve to (unless he said you can in the text file) use textures he used in Action Doom? Also, did you ask him permission at all?...
