Doom Enhanced Released - Final Finished Build!
Well, I suppose it's about time to finally unleash this old mutt.
So, what is Doom Enhanced? Well, it's a mod that basically
Wait, what? Eew! Who put that there?
Anyway, as I was saying before I lost my train of thought, it basically updates some aesthetic things in Doom to fit with other FPS's of the 90s, like Duke3D and Quake, without really touching the gameplay. Some of the features off the top of my head...
- Quake-style gibbing.
- Nashgore blood and Corwin's splash mod.
- Alternate death sequences for the Zombieman, Shotgunner, Pinky and Imp that are sometimes played instead of the normal one.
- Player now has an actual "standing still" frame.
- Footsteps and body thud sounds, both for players and monsters.
- Most of the props can be broken, gibbed or affected.
- Sound enhancements - Imp Pain, Caco Pain, Lost Soul Pain, Chainguns and some monster weapons now have their own sounds instead of reusing the same old one.
- Projectiles use teleporter lines and make sounds as they whiz past your head.
- Some little slightly-hidden things that will put a smile on your face.
I also included a optional extra wad, Doom Enhanced Items, which should be loaded after Doomenh.wad. It adds on...
- Shell casings.
- Unique pickup/raise sounds for all weapons and items.
- Fist is silent.

Awesome mod! The Cyberdemon death sequence is awesome Also, gotta love the new sound effects (cacodemon makes me laugh all the time:"Blubb" ). And teleporting projectiles is kinda nice, too (in Map28 you can do excellent suicides \ traps in the "throne room" ). Very nice stuff so far!
Also: "Ludicrous gibs!" and "Squish!" made me laugh hard, too

How so? I just tested with Stranger and both versions of Diaz and they seem to work okay, as long as you don't load doomenh-items. What wads did you try?chronoteeth wrote:Pretty much none of the "good" weapon mods seem to be compatible with this.
Yeah, I just noticed after releasing. Whoopsy doodles! I'll add those in soon.Enjay wrote:Heh, good fun. You don't seem to have defined any decals though.
I'm pretty sure this is possible (I remember Blade posting about something like it for his mod), I might look into it.Gas Snake wrote:Can you add a feature for kicking body parts like heads in Blood?
