DOOM/DOOM 2 textures and sprites

Post by coltermegasxlr »

Does anyone know where I can download DOOM 1/2 full-sized sprites and textures? I would like to see if I can make them hi resolution on my own with adobe photoshop CS2.

I know. I know that I have no experience whatsoever and also my computer is hard to figure out and may have a few problems, creating an obsticle for me to overcome.

It would be a lot better if you had read this:

before posting, considering you haven't even started on the project yet.

One thing to keep in mind is that the texture names in Doom/Doom2.wad bear little resemblance to the names (and sizes etc) of many of the graphics lumps you can find in there.

Doom uses a rather clever way to make textures while keeping the filesize down despite the lack of compressing algorithm. So the textures are simple definitions, and the actual graphics are patches.

Yes I know. And UA, my work is already in progress on paper. So far two levels have been drawn up. I'll see if I can fax them onto my computer and then send them to ya.
