Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.
is this going to become some sort of megawad? or just single maps you have to download (each one) to play it?? just wondering.
should the player start with fist and pistol, get all the weapons and fight all enemies in the same level or (again taking the megawad idea) is going to have some order (difficulty order) in maps??
anyway, im interested and since no "amazing mapping skills" are needed...
I've decided to set a tentative date for this. Since I don't want the project to stagnate, map ideas and a little bit of maps should be done by August 1. Pics are good. Hopefully we can get all the maps done by December.
Good you tell, for I have not much time right now to make the main idea even work. I can't give you a plan since I have been busy working and studing and other stuff. Anyhoo, at least I wanna try the megwad then
As usual, I've overburdened myself with a bunch of crazy mod ideas. I currently don't have much to show outside of custom textures. I'm not sure when I'll have a map ready.
*Sigh* Due to some potentially drastic changes in my day-to-day activity's my map may take much longer than I thought it would, I will still try to complete it though.
Edit: Disregard the above, the changes were much less drastic than originally anticipated.
My idea is having a level consisting mostly of lava and have out-of-place things (An icy area in the middle of a fiery place, etc.), parts of maps from an unfinished modification of mine for EDGE, and inspiration from a game that I'm replaying recently: Chasm: The Rift.
However, I'm not going to give anymore away of what my level will be for this project, though.
Okay, I'm going to change the theme for my level again just so I can have something to work on and to show for this project. I was going for a retro theme, with very simple textures like something out of an early 90's platformer, but it's just too time consuming working on all those textures. Most of the actual level ideas will remain unchanged, however.
Just to let others know I'm still working on my level for this project, although I am using textures from Blood and Chasm: The Rift (I can't create detailed textures very well). However, I finished the starting area (minus some textures I need to use, plus some sort of arena thing for a mini-boss fight). There is also a super secret area waiting as well.
Spoiler: Super Secret area info
The Super Secret area is a special area which has wall portraits of one of my favorite characters, and of course I intend to not mark it as a secret in case people don't want to enter that part of the level. Oh, and don't shoot any of the portraits, or death awaits you.
.
Basically, my mind consists of old maps from modifications which haven't been received well at all for one of the sections, although it's not going to be the main focus. Do expect a nasty boss fight at the end and not to encounter a BFG unless there are specific circumstances or something.
