I do not even care how deep of a grave I am necro-ing this thread from.
I used to play the WolfenDoom mods over 20 years ago when I was a kid. I thought they were so cool, I couldn't even believe it. I have to thank you for updating these. It's so awesome.

- Astrostein 1-3 (+ maybe The Portal since it's the prequel)
- Operation Arctic Wolf (Pt.1+2)
- Operation Rheingold (Ep.1+2)

There are no plans of adding any additional content at this time. I also don't want to deviate too much from the original mods in order to preserve as much of Laz' creative genius as possible.

Anyway, first I need to get some momentum that puts me back into action, and right now there's nothing/nobody in sight to help with the merge problem. It's a massive task if you don't have any kind of automation for this. I had hoped the WadSmoosh project would make it possible, but apparently it was only made for Doom, not custom content like this.
Necrobump, but it's pertinent to this project; using MBF21, DEH Extra and Decohack, I recreated all the duplicate entities and modified each map to use the new actors specific to each episode. I'm still finishing the testing on E2 and E3, but the overwhelmingly difficult tasks are completed.

The obvious challenge, as you pointed out, is that this task can't really be automated... at least not with any current tools. I have several spreadsheets documenting every DeHackEd change across all 3 episodes so they can be cross-referenced when recreating each actor. Literal weeks of work and palytesting to ensure I didn't fuck something up. Astrostein is obviously the biggest PITA because you're trying to merge three (four including The Portal which I'll work on after all three major episodes are complete) unique DeHackEd patches, so Arctic Wolf and Rheingold should be a lot less work due to the significantly fewer entries that need to be accounted for.

I didn't add any ZDoom features, so it's entirely MBF21 compatible with other ports, but it's definitely a MUCH easier base to build from in order to finally create the unified episodes you wanted, especially since I had to functionally create a ZDoom decorate patch in order to use it with DecoHack.

Nice! Never thought anybody would ever be willing to go through all this hassle to sort it out. Merged versions should be a lot more convenient. I wished I had the time to also create vanilla versions which would work in other source ports like Woof!, but for that I guess a lot of my changed would have to be undone.
