Need help with brightmaps!

Hey, so I want to add brightmaps to some custom sprites in my UZDoom mod (PK3 format) and I genuinely cannot figure out how they work.

I've read the wiki and I kind of get the concept.Greyscale PNG, white pixels glow, black pixels don't. but I have no idea how to actually set it up from scratch. Like where do the PNGs go in the PK3, what does the BRIGHTMAPS lump need to look like exactly, how do i write brightmaps text stuff, that kind of thing.

Basically I just want a working example I can follow. Any help would be great, thanks. :3:

Just a simple tutorial made some time ago, with an example map.

Of course there are other mods with brightmaps, such as
Beautiful Doom
Smooth Doom
PFEnhanced

Load each example into Slade3 and examine the lumps which make this work.
Then enter the name of the lumps into the search of the ZDoom Wiki for explanations.
