The DOOM Tribute Project - GOLD EDITION

On March 29th, 2016, The DOOM Tribute Project was released... 10 years later, it has returned!
I present to you, The DOOM Tribute Project: GOLD EDITION!


After 10 years since its release, I've decided to do something special. It felt pretty cool to briefly return to this project, and it brought back a lot of good memories.


Here's what's new:
  • Contains a total of 42 levels!
  • Level lump names have been renamed to match their corresponding episode. They are now labeled as: D#M1-D#M5 (Secret levels are labeled as D#M6)
  • Original levels have been updated and rebalanced; some completely overhauled like Phobos Anomaly and The Mansion.
  • Each episode now has a secret level.
  • An additional level was added to episode 7; Blood Falls!
  • The secret levels are remakes/inspired versions of other Doom levels; New levels include: System Control, Delta Labs, Land of the Unholy, Resource Operations, Barrels O' Fun, Sewer-Side, & The Necropolis (Doom 2016 inspired).
  • New Icon of Sin boss battle.
  • Mod comes with a universal Weapon Mod compatibility patch that can be used for Brutal Doom, Project Brutality, and more!
  • New Alternate Music Pack add-on to rock out to while ripping and tearing those pesky demons; Music credits are located in the pk3 file itself; Separate download link below.

Doom Tribute is one of my all time favorite experiences I've played with doom and now that it provides the option to play with any weapon mod, I'm excited to jump back in for a new playthrough. This is awesome, I've always wanted this.

So here's my initial thoughts based on playing episode one:

-You introduced me to Coldblight. I'm always looking for music to play with Doom and the optional PK3 you provided is awesome. :D
-I was enjoying the updates to episode 1. I like that the secret level is a reimagining of Evilution map 01. Kind of makes me wish Evilution and Plutonia got the Tribute Project treatment. :P
-I'm not a fan of forcefully resetting the player's inventory between episodes 1 and 2. I believe it should be the player's decision to either pistol start each episode or play continuously. As someone who prefers to play continuously, forcefully resetting my inventory kills my desire to play further. I realize this is likely a "me" thing though and that the WAD may not be for me as a result.

The universal weapon mod compatibility patch doesn't work for some other (non-BD) mods, for example Russian Overkill or Supercharge. You will see vanilla clip/cellpack (which serve no use) instead of appropriate replacements from the mod.

A better solution should be using RandomSpawner like this:
