Hi Lulle, at the beginning of the thread you said something about Strifer converting, do you have any Hexen converter in mind in the future?

Strifer & Hexen are great for converting into Doom maps for those looking for more action since Strife & Hexen have completely different proposals, I for example finished Hexen twice but I prefer something more like Doom & Heretic.

Hi. Strife converter is still a bit WiP but good to Release I think. I will Upload it maybe tomorrow. And the Hexen converter...I Pulled in a lot of hexen monsters and textures. The only thing missing are the classes. Hasnt done that someone already? Or just use Walpurgis: Awesome mod!

Hm. So here is something I pulled together for you on a lazy sunday afternoon:

It ports the Hexen Classes to Doom, replaces some Monsters and Textures.
This is a proof of concept and there are a Zillion things to fix and balance. Maybe I'll make it Project, but not atm.

Oops, sorry for the delay, now that I've seen it, thank you very much lulle for answering my request, I didn't expect it, I thought you were going to do it in some future project after Strife. Thank you.

Hi,
it is (maybe) a project for the future. It works, but some things need to fixed like spriteoffsets and everything about armor needs some polish.
+some texture issues etc...(cosmetic but time consuming)

It's okay if it needs a bit of tweaking, it's the good intention that counts. It also serves to alert me to this future project should you decide to continue.

Hi, I am working on something else atm:



Every Class has a pet (Beastmaster:2) and different Weapons/Skills.
Beastmaster: Weak weapons, 2 strong Pets: Snake and HereticImp. Because your weapons are almost useless, you collect ammo to spawn pets with special powers: FireDragon, Blitzvile, Wendigo.
Marksman: Strong Bows that deal Fire, Thunder, Ice Damage. His Pet is a Fleshdog - nothing special but gives the Marksman a 10% damage buff.
Survival. Strong Melee Fighter and a Centaur as Pet. He has almost no Range abilites but a big healthpool and his pet is almost unbreakable and has a range attack!

not all features are implemented yet, but its fun.

Okay, I'll do a test. :D

Very good, I liked the pets, I don't think I've played any mod that came with companions, I usually had to download them separately.

I don't know if you can give spoilers, because it's still in development, but you put a fart on them that I found funny, and I really liked the element change on the arrows, I was surprised by that, it was well done.

And as it's a test, I don't think I'll give any opinion for now on what's good and what's bad, because as you said: “not all features are implemented” and many of the things can be corrected in the release version, but your work is good.

One suggestion I'd make before release, if you want, is to make it compatible with Heretic or Hexen since it combines very well with them, as it runs on Doom and has a dark fantasy theme I think a medieval Slayer like from Doom Dark Ages could combine well as a fourth class with a cocodemon or pinky pet.

The problem is that his arsenal is very different from the others, so you'd have more work to do to adapt it, but anyway, it's just a suggestion, you don't have to follow everything to the letter.

Anyway, from what I've tested I'm looking forward to the release version.

Added some Skills like Hunters Mark and revive Pet.
Beastmaster is almost complete now.

Here with 4 Pets active:


Heretic/Hexen wont be diffucult. I think adding a filter for the replacements (mainly Weapons) should do it.

Check out the key bindings for (almost) all new stuff!!!
