Mods where enemies drop new weapons

Post by Aldus »

Hi, I'm a relative noob in regards to Doom. Some years ago I saw on YouTube a Doom mod where dying revenants occasionally dropped their rocket launchers and you could picked them up and shoot homing missles. Does anyone knows such a mod?

I'm also interested in mods that allows you to pick up new weapons from dead ememies, and that are not Project Brutality, Complex Doom and the likes. So, mods that are not full of gore and blood and crazy graphics and things like that. More like in the vein of NeoDoom.

Thank you.

I know what you're talking about and I think those sort of mods are buried deep in the depths of the Gameplay Mods. As for strictly new weapon mods which isn't Brutal Doom-esque but you have new weapons, well. That depends on what kind of crazy you want! If big guns versus tons of enemies is what you want, I recommend checking out Russian Overkill -- it's great for slaughter maps like Hell Revealed 2. If you want a splash of RPG elements and aim for a long gameplay session (a 32-map megawad), I highly recommend DRLA (It'll take more than one play through to appreciate DRLA). And somewhere in between, look no further than Final Doomer -- my go to for mindless Vanilla-like fun.

I also have a thread you can visit if you want a monster pack to use with these. DRLA does come with its own optional monster pack that I use often with other weapon mods.

Don't be afraid to ask more questions! Everyone started off as a newb at one point or another. :)

Noob = n00b, someone who should know but opts to play arrogantly or dumb.
Newb = Newbie, someone who doesn't know and wants to learn.
Don't sell yourself short, my friend.
