Welcome to BLITZ!, the latest electrifying Doom mod that brings lightning-powered destruction to the classic game! This isn't just another weapon mod—this is a thunderstorm of carnage! ⚡💀


Map02: A hit on the middle enemy causes lightning to spread left and right. All enemies will be electrified with damage over time effect. They will die-sooner or later xD


Blitz'd Enemies. They got the DoT-they will die...sooner or later.

This weapon is like the Lightning Gun from Quake 3 or the Tesla Gun from Quake 1. In some game there was a weapon that shot a lightning bolt that then spread to nearby enemies. I recreated that here and mixed in some aspects of the Sigil weapon from Strife. The BlitzBall spreads to nearby enemies on impact. They then get a debuff that slowly kills them. You can recognize the debuff by a ball that surrounds them. The BlitzVile spawns every now and then and casts massive lightning bolts from the sky. This AOE kills everything in the area! It is also a descendant of the ArchVile, i.e. it can bring dead enemies back to life to fight for you.
The weapon has brutal power and I recommend fighting your way through slaughtermaps.

+FIRE: BlitzCloud: Spreading Blitzdamage all over the place and electrifies nearby enemies with a DoT (Damage over Time)
+AltFIRE: BlitzBall: A big devastating ball destroying everything in path. Works kinda BFG in Quake 2.

AltFire: Blitzify!
Fire: Send a lightningZap

Display: (Scouter)
-Blue Bar: BlitzAmmo
-Red Bar: DPS (Damage/second)

There is a bug where the lightning hands have the bottom of their sprite missing.

Very good, I found a lot of fun in this mod, I love Overpowered mods.

Suggestion: In Blitz Doom options could have an option to Blitz health not consume ammo with.

I followed your BlitzVile advice, I felt like a real thunder god. :lol:

Speaking of monsters, can you tell if your mod is compatible with the monster pack? I'm not sure if it might be incompatible with The Blitz Army.

Hi,
any weapon or monster mod will work because I am not replacing (all of) the default enemies. I tried ColorfullHell+Nutifier+Blitzgun and there are no Blitzfoes any more, but thats OK and totally makes sense if you use a monster randomizer.
The Blitzvile is still there!

340k+ DPS! What a mess!

I dived deep into physics to find a solution to the problem: "Blitzheal consumes Ammo". Sadly, I can't change the laws of physics ( Law of Conservation of Energy), but I added an option to give you Blitzammo from Kills. You can go up to 100 BlitzAmmo per Kill, so BlitzAmmo to Heal conversion shouldnt be a problem any longer xD

And here is something to try for you (NUTIFIER!)

You can add archviles with Nutifier and get Blitzviles from BlitzGun....so let the battle begin.. The limit is only your CPU.

Absolutely amazing. I was just messing around this morning and downloaded it to my set of Doom mods on my phone. I ran it on the latest GZDoom and I was like wow. I didn't expect it to be so awesome. I just tried it with an obsidian megawad. I want to try it with a slaughter map next.

If you don't care if I showcase it in a YouTube video I will definitely link to this page. You know what it reminds me of... If you ever played the first Torchlight game for Windows XP and you pick the alchemist class you get the chain lightning skill. I keep thinking there was one in Diablo 2 but I'm not sure. Either way awesome weapon. And I like the blitzvile a lot too.

You've given me the complete recipe for fun with NUTIFIER! + Blitzvile, it's very satisfying to sweep a map full of monsters with the Blitzgun's lightning effects. :wub:

I also UPDATED Nutifier and checked some things:
+Disable "Nut Drops", "Nut Weapon" and enable Archvile in Nutifier to get the most out of the BlitzGun.
+BLITZNUT-Synergy: Heal from Kills in Nutifier and the Healing over time from Blitz.

I think this mod is very satisfying, especially after a hard day's work or if you had a bad day.

That's exactly what I think, I've finished the original doom wads several times in every possible way and I've tried a few iwads.

Today I just want to have fun without compromise destroying hordes of enemies, your mod literally fell from the sky like a thunderbolt to eliminate the demonic invasion, you can still combine it with any other overpowered weapon pack (or not), the work you did is very good, in addition I could still know other mods that you created.

I also had problems with version 120, the antivirus was deleting the mod but now I've discovered that you've updated it. :thumb:

->Great you like that mod. I mean. I like it: My daily task for the last weeks it MAP07 of slaughterfest 2011 xD It's fun and still challenging.
