Re: Flashlight++ (UPDATE V9)

Hi! I'm having a rendering issue with this add-on, the light beams are being rendered at 35fps while my game runs at 100+ fps. I've tried locking the fps to 60 and even turning on vertical sync but the light beams kept looking "weird" and out of sync with the game visuals, there are artifacts on the beam borders whenever I move.

The only solution I've found is locking the game to 35 fps, but it feels unplayable that way. When I lock the fps to 35 the flashlight beams move smoothly tho.

How can I fix this?

You can't fix it that's just how GZDoom works

I was testing out the click sounds of the flashlight and noticed the "Play 'Click' Sound" option doesn't work properly for me. If I turn it off, the flashlight still has a click sound when turning it on and off.

Oh yeah, i was going to remove that option and just make it use the same option as the sound itself, i probably forgot to do that halfway through, it's an easy fix though.

It's not a problem for me because I prefer having a click sound, just something I noticed and figured I'd report. This mod is an absolute necessity to me (so much so it's in my autoload folder) but I can't think of anything that could improve it. (aside from the frame-drop problems but as said that's a GZDoom issue, not this mod's issue)

Flashlight++ truely is one of the best addons! The effect is better than anything else i've seen. There is only one thing missing for me. In the Tools menu of Ultimate DoomVisor you can set 'Require power for Flashlight' to Yes. This drains the Accessory power. I really like that as it makes me more mindful of not using the flashlight all the time / having to deal with an empty flashlight. But sadly this only works with the (inferior) stock flashlight. When i use Flashlight++ it has no effect on the Accessory power level. Is there a way to make it compatible with Ultimate DoomVisor?
