I don't know how alive this is, but one fix this mod could use is proper +NOINTERACTION on its blood actors. I've seen some massive lags caused by blood actors, and in one special case a total lag-freeze (a bunch of romeroheads getting either crushed or blown up in Equinox).

Both mods are currently on hiatus, unfortunately due to my living situation. That said, the gore system is going to be almost completely removed in future versions, but for now I'd definitely recommend the fix you mentioned to improve performance.

I get that this is on hiatus, but in case a new version will ever be made, know that there's a bug with this mod and "Epic 2" megawad: elevator exits are bugged and simply kill the player instead of taking 1 hp and ending the level (I take it they use some sort of voodoo-doll script that's being broken by the mod), same thing happens with the first door on map31 (only the door doesn't kill you, unless you're low on health, but it still won't open). Epic 2 is a very popular work, plus I'am sure there's another wads that use simular scripts, so you definitely should look into it.
