Hi there!
I'm running Running Windows 10 with AMD Software 23.3.2 on my RX 5700 XT. Alt tabbing in GZDoom will allow me to see/move my windows cursor, but all I see is the a frozen frame of Doom. If I Alt + Tab again, Doom works correctly.
I tried a fresh install, but it didn't seem help. I'm not running any mods. Any idea to why this is happening?
GZDoom 4.10.0 won't Alt +Tab

Re: GZDoom 4.10.0 won't Alt +Tab
The Desktop Composition (dwm.exe) is failing to reactivate. This is required in order to show the desktop since Windows 8 - it's likely a failure in the AMD driver (as it often is).
You can try running in windowed mode to fix this - you can at least use the maximize button to instruct GZDoom to use all available desktop space for this. Another option is to have an always-on-top window showing on the screen somewhere - some music player software programs might be useful for this since they would be somewhat unintrusive.

Thanks, AMD driver changes would explain why alt + tabbing use to work in GZDoom, but no longer. Is there an option for a Borderless Window?

Technically, GZDoom's "full screen" mode is already borderless windowed - it's functionality in Windows that makes it behave the way it does (i.e. suspending and restarting dwm).ArkadeHorror wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 7:04 pm Thanks, AMD driver changes would explain why alt + tabbing use to work in GZDoom, but no longer. If it's not working reliably anymore, double check which hardware renderer you're using (OpenGL or Vulkan) and see if changing that addresses the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately no dice. I tried that when I first encountered the issue, but tried again to just to check. Neither OpenGL/OpenGL ES or Vulkan affect my ability to alt tab.
