Except that's even MORE annoying to use, and is a fantastic example of web browser bloat. Ridiculous amount of CPU usage and pointless page animations to download a file.

And of course it wont work at all if JavaScript is disabled, which I restrict on a whitelist basis for security purposes. (It's depressing how much the web is dependent on "client side scripting")

It's a lot better than popup ads and intrusive download button ads.

To download a file from Mediafire I do not leftclick on the download button, which would open a page full of ads.

To avoid being bombarded with ads, simply rightclick the download button and select

Save linked content as ...

Would this work for Sourceforge as well as far as avoiding popups and unwanted downloads? I'm specifically looking at the Hammer of Thyrion sourceport for Hexen II if that helps or changes anything.
