Changelog

General Concepts
  • Enemies are much stronger and more aggressive
  • Most enemies have side graded variants
  • Enemies were designed to fill their same role, but be much better at their jobs. Results may vary.
  • Options for controlling enemy spawns and new behavior
  • Uses damage types found in various mods, such as HoD BARON, DRLA and other mods of mine and Yholl's
  • Includes codex in the files with more detailed information
  • Each monster type has a BOSS variant. These are very rare and very dangerous. Currently not every BOSS monster is in.
  • Enemies are grouped into 5 categories, each with unique traits and weaknesses. Human, Demon, Cyber, Undead and Brain
    • Human enemies do not infight each other
      • Humans have no innate weakness or resistances
    • Demons are split into three classes, Lesser Middle and Greater, and often have a wide variety of moves
      • All demons are weak to Holy and resist Unholy
      • Middle and Greater demons resist Elemental
      • Middle and Greater demons can be attuned to an Element, further increases their resistance to it but granting them a weakness
      • Legends tell of a Proto class of demon, but these have never been observed. If they do exist, they would have to be incredibly powerful and difficult to take down...
    • Cybers are slow but much more durable than a non-cyber cousin. They have a wide variety of weapons
      • Cybers resist Physical but are weak to Plasma and very weak to Electricity
    • Undead are slow, durable and their corpses must be destroyed or they will get back up
      • Undead are immune to Unholy and Poison but very weak to Fire
    • Brains are resistant to elements and magic, but are weak to melee attacks.
      • They can generate Barriers that protect them from direct attack.
Spoiler: Damage Type Details
The Bestiary
Spoiler: Don't look if you want to be surprised by the monsters

-Patches for special drop tables for various mods
-Add more variants and bosses
-Finish the damn codex

This is a damn good mod. Even using something like Trailblazer with this is guaranteed to give you a challenge. :D

Not shabby at all! I'm going to have to enjoy playing testing out my weapons mods on this to see how gruesome it gets. Brutal FreeDoom GZD V3 Weapons Only seems to be on parity. Been a pretty fu experience so far, especially with them zombies never going down for good. LOL.

Well I'll be damm

The monster pack is actually good...

And well...I have to say, Legion works very well with Cosmobyte's newest gameplay mod called "War Rooster" since I think it really adds that deep-seated dread I guess, with War Rooster actually throwing out hallucinations of doom enemies at you which would give the mod that extra bit of sadistic challenge.

Overall, it and War Rooster really worked so well together.

Here's the link to War Rooster in case you're curious:

Attempting to play this with Guncaster results in no replacement enemies spawning; other enemy mods work fine, tried multiple load orders to no avail.

Both mods replace monsters, so it wouldn't work without a patch. I'll make one...eventually.

I want to enjoy this mod more; I really like the new abilities granted to the various enemies.

But sometimes, when I gib multiple enemies either all at once or in quick succession, it TANKS my framerate to one frame every few seconds until the clouds of blood dissipate.

For reference, my PC specs are:
  • Operating System: Windows 7
  • Motherboard: AMD 990FXA-UD3 R5
  • CPU: AMD FX-9590
  • GPU: AMD Radeon R9 Fury
  • RAM: 16GB DDR3
And I use Vulkan rendering.

Hmm. Lemme put that in my notes, an effects choker for gibs. Anyway I have a worse computer and haven't had that issue.

Just to make sure, what other mods are you running? And was there a Voltaic Archvile at all? They're the black ones that use lightning; they've been known to cause performance hits during testing.

It was happening regardless of the enemies involved: I could be shooting plain Faculty grunts with no Archies in sight and I'd still get massive framerate losses.

It's not important what enemies are involved, only how many. Or at least, that's been my experience.

As far as other mods used, this happened with both Cosmobyte's War Rooster(mostly as a result of the M79 "Thumper") and Pillowblaster's Russian Overkill, so I doubt it's related to my weapon mods.
