Some of the gun sounds might need a glow-up, I know the shotgun sounds underwhelming. The 1911A1 might need to be sped up a tic.

Dev diary:

I said i wasn't going to add any new weapons for now, but i did manage to do something i was looking forward some time ago:



The M3A1 "Grease Gun" will be added in the game as a secret weapon. To obtain it, just kill all monsters in the stage three times.

It uses the same ammo as the Colt M1911A1.
It still needs some work on the reloading, but i'll keep myself busy planning the next secret weapons.

Been checking it out so far (and the update too), as someone who is into the Vietnam war era setting and weapons, its really refreshing to see being put in Doom. I played it on many levels, that I've made a video of myself playing this mod with Xenomorph enemies, and it was a rather interesting experiences!

Nice!! I was wondering like "where the grease gun at!?" and this comes up! Hope it goes well with the new secret weapons. I was wondering if you could somehow implement grenades in the game soon? Love this mod though and keep it up!

Really nice batch of satisfying ass weapons here. Gotta say, not having to worry about wasting large ammo pickups or picking up armor when I don't need it is super refreshing! Most of the feedback I have has already been addressed, but I do still have a couple things.

Firstly, would it be possible to make the fortunate son's fear effect togglable? Its a neat effect and all, but it ends up feeling a little too OP for my tastes, especially in comparison to the rest of the arsenal.

Secondly, I'd personally like to see a semi-auto fire mode for the m16, mostly because it would help rationing out that 18 round mag, and for pulling off long distance shots more consistently. That, and it seems fitting since the gun had both full and semi auto firing modes.

And finally, this one's pretty minor but any way we could get the option to toggle auto reloading back? I personally don't like auto reloading, especially for tense firefights where I have to repeatedly empty a gun then switch to another, which in all fairness is still doable with this mod even with auto reloading on, but it can still be a little annoying reloading when I don't want to.

And thats it! Looking forward to future updates, especially after seeing that grease gun

Thanks for the feedback, and yes, sure thing! I'll bring these options for v1.2, as well as a batch of new weapons and content!

Yeeeees we definitely needed more firepower!! Because of those Revenants man. Nothing is over. You just don't turn them off!

Hmm....The mod is very nice overall-

I tried this with a new monster pack called "Legion"

I've been enjoying the mod so far!

The pistol might need more of a punch to it but the rocket launcher is amazing!

I have two suggestions:

-Secret weapons like the grease gun could be used as "upgrades" for other weapons that subtitute the weaker counterpart to maybe, i.e.: Grease gun replaces pistol.
-I remember that in a previous mod of yours called Nightshift you entertained the idea of a sanity system, what if something of that nature was added that affects the rate of spawn of allucinations and a more shakey aim the worse it gets.

That's pretty much it, I'm curious to see your future projects and how this mod will be developed further.

I tried this out for a few minutes; I decided to try it with Brohnesorge's Legion on the Demonfear mapset.

For one, I never encountered the M3 Grease Gun, despite the fact that I made a point of meticulously clearing the levels; maybe I just need to play this mod on a vanilla .IWAD mapset, or maybe it's the enemy set. Either way, that's mildly disappointing.

The other feedback I have is that whenever you're forced to reload your gun, it slows your movement speed. This is pretty awful to me, makes me think this mod is more about use of cover than running and gunning; which is pretty much the opposite of what I expect when I play DooM. If I wanted to play a game that forced me to use cover, I'd play a modern AAA shooter.

Otherwise, I have to say that it really nails the feel of a Vietnam mod, so well done on that.

Thanks for trying it out!

Maybe i haven't expressed myself correctly about some things, so let's go to them:

The Grease Gun is not in the game yet, it will only be avaiable in the next update, which should come out soon; i'm still in the testing phase and incorporating the works of many talented partners who decided to colaborate.

About the reloading speed decrease, i thought i got rid of that in the latest update, but i clearly forgot to remove it from some weapons ; the next update will probably get rid of all speed penalties, since this is not a survival mod in any means.

So, in hope this will keep you tuned around: if you had a good time playing it, the next update will make you enjoy it twice as more. ;)

The new weapons are pretty much be the equivalents of their slot replacements; The China Lake will replace the M79, and both the RPG-7 and the M16 will be replaced as well. Maybe the Colt can still be kept because the M3 Grease Gun will be limited to a slow rate of fire, which only helps stunlocking monsters, really.

About the hallucinations, i'm not sure how i could emulate this via code, but i appreciate the suggestion!
