Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.

We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

Rachael then I do not know what to make of it. The issues occur with two different drivers on mine from AMD for Windows 7 64Bit driver version V21.5.2 (5/11/21) and V22.6.1. I actually had to back track to version V21.5.2 (5/11/21) because the HDMI Audio Driver would not work in V22.6.1 which I'm currently talking to AMD on that one. Anyway for the issues to occur on two different driver sets there's gotta be something. As far as sound issues I can't update or backtrack drivers on those because my sound card is so old and they don't make newer drivers for it. Again this is happening on a Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics card with either drivers sets of V21.5.2 (5/11/21) or V22.6.1 for Windows 7 64Bit. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy driver version 6.0.1.1377 (3/18/2010) for Windows 7 64Bit.

I would like to report that the sound issues are fixed in dev build gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. The graphical issues remain though in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. So something yawl did recently or figured out fixed the sound issue as all weapons sounds were working correctly in Duke Nukem Weapons & Monsters V10b and Brutal Doom V21 on gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. So whatever yawl have set in there as far as the sound situation goes I wouldn't mess with it as it's fixed now in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. All that remains is the graphical issues. Also the issue with the main Assault Rifle in Brutal Doom V21 still exists where if I use the Give All cheat it gives 500 ammo and if I start shooting the gun will flash and make no sounds. It's supposed to give me 9999 ammo as I put in the ammo.txt file, but it's not just giving me 500 ammo and the gun flashes if using Give All cheat. Now if I switch from the Assault Rifle to something else and come back I believe it fixes itself though. But again just letting you know yawl conquered the sound issue in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b it's working like it's supposed to just the graphical issues remain and the Assault Rifle issue. I noticed the graphical issue when using the screen wipe melt in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. The text flashing issue I don't know if exists still in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b with the options menu because it hasn't occurred, but doesn't mean it's not still there, but I haven't seen it happen again. But yea the graphical issues and Assault Rifle issue still exist in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b, but sound issues are fixed in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b.

I would expect this is a mod bug, not a bug with GZDoom.

Wildweasel the Assault Rifle issue did not occur until I went to GZDoom V4.8.0 and beyond (V4.8.1) it does not exist in GZDoom V4.7.1 or lower. So honestly I don't know. Basically everything and I do mean everything works perfectly in GZDoom V4.7.1, but then when I went to GZDoom V4.8.0 and beyond (V4.8.1) the graphical issues started, the sound issues started, and the Assault Rifle issue started. It's only now the sound issues have been corrected in GZDoom gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. Basically I'm saying no issues exist in GZDoom V4.7.1. Graphical issues, sound issues, and the Assault Rifle issue exists in GZDoom V4.8.0 and V4.8.1. Graphical issues and the Assault Rifle issues, but NO sound issues are in GZDoom gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. So I don't think it's a mod issue it can't be since it doesn't exist in GZDoom V4.7.1.

It is possible for a mod to have an issue but happens to work and go unnoticed in some version of the engine, but when the engine or something changes, the mod ends up tripping over itself from an issue that was already there in hiding.

I would to report the text flashing bug still exists in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b. So here's what I know graphical issues are still in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b with the screen wipe melt and text flashing in the options making it impossible to do anything with options, the assault rifle issue still exists, sounds though for weapons have been corrected. The text flashing bug in the options started when I went to the Player Options then when I went out of GZDoom and came back in it was doing it on all options. Again the graphical issues occur at random and are hard to predict. The assault rifle bug only started after GZDoom V4.8.0. The sound issues also only started after GZDoom V4.8.0. So here's where we're at in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-82-g35f8aab6b graphical issues are still occurring with the screen wipe melt and options menu, the assault rifle bug still exists, all weapon sounds have been corrected.

Well I was going to test dev build gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-85-ga4aca9bd9 for yawl, but for some reason it's not able to be unzipped for some reason it gives me an error each time I try. I'm using 7-Zip to try and unzip it and it just won't do it. I mean I've been able to use 7-Zip to unzip yawl's dev builds before, but this one it just won't do it it's like somethings wrong with it. I did notice the file size is smaller then all the other dev builds yawl have on there. Don't know what's going on, but yawl may want to look into this and see why the dev build gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-85-ga4aca9bd9 is unzipable.

Hmm, you're right...

Looks like the July 1st devbuild probably failed to upload correctly. Guess somebody should contact Blzut3 about that...

Okay, Blzut3 says that the problem with that file should now be corrected. You may now try downloading it again. 👍

So in gzdoom-x64-g4.9pre-85-ga4aca9bd9 here's what I discovered so far. The flashing text graphical issue with the options menu and even starting a new game still exists randomly. The graphical issue with the screen wipe melt feature still exists and is worse when enabling vid_fps 1 (FPS). The assault rifle bug still exists in Brutal Doom V21 when using the give all cheat it still shows 500 ammo instead of 9999 and the weapon flashes until I switch to something else and come back to it it's almost like a fake extra assault rifle is being added for some reason, but disappears when I switch to something else and come back. :-)***All sounds for weapons are still remaining corrected***:-). So basically what ever yawl did with the sound it's remaining corrected no missing weapons sounds or looping weapon sounds. My time of testing dev builds I'm going to start having to space them out more I hope that's okay because I work and it also puts wear on my SSD's and plus I figured I need to give yawl more time to play around with things etc then just a couple days, but do realize the sounds for weapons are remaining corrected and working this far.:-) I hope yawl nail the other issues in future dev builds. Take care for now. O yea the issues still occurring are both in Duke Weapons & Monsters V10b and Brutal Doom V21 which is the graphical issues and the assault rifle issue. NO weapon sound issues whatsoever in both so far which is a plus.
