Flashlight++ (UPDATE V8.5) (Flashlight+ with extra features)

Flashlight++ is a modified version of RicardoLuis0's Flashlight+ mod, and expands upon it by adding extra features.

Default (DarkDoomZ-esque big weak circle, focused in the center)


Half-Life 2 (Focused in the center with a slight ring around it)


Doom 3 BFG Edition (Big Left Shoulder-mounted flashlight)


Blue/Green Magic (Blue or green ring around the flashlight depending on which one you choose)


Lamp (Small area lit up around the player, a nice yellow color)


Mining Headlight (Weak head-mounted light with a yellow color)


Literally just fucking Fullbright (The entire map is lit up by your sheer power)


Cel-Light 2000 (About as much of a circle as you can get.)


Generic Flashlight (Not too special, a blue-ish blurry dot.)


Night Vision (ADRIAN SHEPHARD???????)


MetaDOOM Pistol flashlight (Generic flashlight but slightly harder)

-Fixed a read from address zero crash if the player actor was deleted
-Fixed a divide by zero crash if the outer angle is set to 0
-Fixed a warning about an invalid keyconf bind
-Fixed an error where the mod would automatically bind the f key to Bullet Time X's bullet time command, now it properly binds it to the toggle button
-Sound code remade from scratch by A_D_M_E_R_A_L

-Fixed the light spin bug in DarkDoomZ mode
-Added a new flashlight sound from LiTDOOM, it sounds like a springy click
-The light beam can now alert monsters, this is an option if you don't like it, though
-The credits are now more easily readable

-I added a new position, Handheld from DarkDoomZ, it has the sway from DDZ, but don't worry since this doesn't apply to the other presets.
-Added a Russian translation
-New sounds were added (Prey '06, OP4, Selaco)
-Nash's tooltips were added, but not used yet.

Not sure how I haven't seen this until now, but I've been on the hunt for a good flashlight mod and this one appears to be even better then what I expected. Thank you very much, and from the looks of it, great work too. If you continue making presets, can you consider making one similar to the "Lamp" preset but have it flicker so it simulates torchlight and would fit well with Hexen/ Heretic maps?

I actually never... thought about something like that, not sure how possible it'd be though.
For Hexen/Heretic, the Blue and Green magic flashlights fit the best, since i themed them around those games.

I love this mod, but find one small thing to be missing - an option for flicker. Probably frequency, amount (whether it flickers to black, or whether it just fades) and length (are they quick flashes, or like, a long slow fade in and out).

This initially occurred to me when I saw the "lamp" preset, because I was thinking it'd be fun in a game in a fantasy setting, like an oil lamp. A slight flicker, instead of perfect consistency, would be amazing.

That being said, I realize you can't just like... keep throwing new features on the pile, it has to stop somewhere, and as a flashlight mod, this is pretty darn great already.

As for the flicker idea, i'm pretty sure flickering lights are hardcoded, i could make that a CVAR though, but having multiple copies of the same actor with different flicker properties would be kind of ugly, but i do have an idea...
