In the following screenshot, the crate on the left is made with normal Doom architecture. It is 64x64x64 Doom units. The crate on the right is a model. It is also 64x64x64 units but the units are square (i.e. in my modelling program, it is 64 units tall but GZDoom doesn't apply 1:1.2 scaling to a model unless you explicitly tell it too in MODELDEF.)

And here is exactly the same scene but with pixelratio = 1.0 set in MAPINFO.

The funny thing is, to experienced Doomer's eyes, the model crate in image 1 and both crates in the 2nd image look too short and squat.
