Re: software mode
No, the software renderer was removed because it cannot coexist with the current hardware renderer. It won't come back.

Re: software mode
Your PC most likely can run OpenGL since OpenGL goes back to the 90s. I reckon you mean you don't have a videocard supporting OpenGL 3.3.Basil Sarringway wrote:will be there any software mode? my pc cant run opengl so plz add software mode
There is GZDoom-GLES which may or may not work on your machine. Any hardware from the last 20 years (!) will have OGL 2.x support.

This is Raze, not GZDoom.

Re: software mode
Raze, incidentally enough, has a GLES fork, I just haven't gotten around to playing with it, yet. I'll make a build later today (hopefully I remember) - and see how well it runs.
I'm not expecting as much stability though since Build games tend to collapse when the wind blows in just slightly the wrong direction. It doesn't take much to make them crash or glitch when you're playing with the code. But again - we'll see.

Re: software mode
I'm happy to provide builds to those who request it, just let me know . For the most part, it's been fairly robust. I recently merged master into it so it's fairly up to date.

Re: software mode
That is good to hear. Do you have a branch with your recent master merge I can pull from?

Re: software mode
I should test it with the new renderer on my Intel work laptop to see if that weird glitch happens.

I stand corrected, focused in the middle of the screen and not at the top..Graf Zahl wrote:This is Raze, not GZDoom.

This has already been answered, so I've merged this.

Re: software mode
TBH I don't get the request for software rendering, all the upstream ports already have the classic renderer and we're not at a point where mods only run on Raze and that's unlikely to happen any time soon.
