Sonic: Lock & Load is a hyper-fast character-action first-person shooter based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series of games and built on GZDoom.

It draws inspiration from Sonic games, as well as titles like Sonic Robo Blast 2, ULTRAKILL and Devil May Cry. It also features elements from other GZDoom mods, retro FPS games and other character-action games.

Sonic: Lock & Load is not fully completed yet, and development is progressing slowly. However, it aims to provide an extremely fun and thrilling experience reminiscent of old-school shooters, as well as their modern-day revivals.

Visit sonic-lockandload.github.io for more information about Sonic: Lock & Load.
Updates are right on the front page, and all information is updated concurrently with the game.
Video updates are also posted on my YouTube channel.

They're hosted on a GitHub repo (and are too big to display here).

I can't show them directly, so:

I'm not the best at taking in-game screenshots, sorry.

Hm, interesting mod!
Do you intend to add Sonic's enemies later when you finish on the playable characters part of this mod?

Yep, I plan on releasing a whole campaign as soon as the other stuff is complete.
(thanks btw, means a lot)

Does it work on LZDoom or did I do something wrong?

I tested on LZDoom but gave an error, something related to the menu I think.

Just checked myself -- something to do with AddListMenu? Odd, that never happened before...
Is there something preventing you from using standard GZDoom?

I was going to comment on how wrong it feels to have Sonic shooting people with guns...

But then, I was reminded of this.

Funnily enough, Shadow's weapon lineup hasn't even been planned yet.
(Also what the hell else was I gonna do, give Sonic a spin dash for each of his weapons? What do you think this is, Smash Bros?)

GZdoom behaves strangely with me, when i play for too long time it crashes, which doesn't happen in LZDoom.

I don't know if it's my machine or something they've already fixed in some new version.

Have you tried the latest version, then? Or maybe checking your OpenGL version?

I'll try to see if you have a new version to look at your mod. :)

I just tested your mod and it's a lot of fun and how I like sonic games I found cool this idea of bringing elements of it to Doom. :thumb:

I didn't understand it was Shadow, is it purposeful that he didn't have weapons or is it something related to sonic's modern games?

I liked the way with you treated the levels of difficulty where the easy is really easy and the hard really hard (obviously)

I'll be connected to the new updates if my GZDoom doesn't run into trouble.
