It is a very effective vintage dos look, though it makes me think more of Kyrandia 2 and King's Quest 6 (a lot of turbans in that one) than Hexen.
Unless dos-style is specifically the goal, I can't help thinking that with 3d models and ultra high resolution zdoom it might be worth creating the sprites at 2-4 times the size. We have crummy macintosh no-rotation wolfenstein showing off well-done big sprites in 3d and I don't know what else.

I always thought the regular chaingun could be given a few extra frames, although spinning that fast it seems like it should be less stable, like the firemace.
another redrawn monster. Still needs work but I like it better than the old version! (how this forum thread is choosing to display it notwithstanding; if I shrink it to 400 across like the website seems to want me to it looks even worse than that) I do worry it seems too powerful now for how I presently have them deployed, but I also like having multiple tiers of the same beast.

Working on a potential new HUD for Malice - gonna see if I can rework the shield graphics around this when it's done. Gray pieces are likely temporary, and will probably be replaced with a translucent graphic later on. 320x240px red box for scale - going for widescreen compatibility.

Absolute chrome, this thing has. I genuinely didn't like the stone-y texture of Iron Lich despite it was called "IRON" Lich. Well it looks certainly made out of iron or any other metallic material, alright!

Why stop at metal? We could do the whole selection of liches - stone, iron, brass, obsidian, cardboard. Collect them all!
