If you don't know 'bout this game play it, it's basically Wolfenstein 3D meets System Shock and the Alien movies

Since my last Amiga rip, i started to investigate a bit about the FPS on the Amiga.

But let's go straight to the subject...

This is a little rip project i was working since july, mostly because my other attempts to rip this game was in vain (the formats used by the engine is a clusterfuck).
As is, for now the current wave of textures includes all the textures used in the first level

I hope so...
The engine used by this game manages it's resources in a very complicated way.

At this point, because of how the game formats works, the only thing i can promise is to rip all the textures

could be an interesting GZDoom project, assuming a suitable collection of 3D models can be conjured up to fit with the textures

how have I not heard about this Amiga "fps" game before now?

because it got released when the Amiga was more that dead, the game atmosphere however is damn impressive aside of other games like Alien Breed 3D II

I am impressed the amiga could handle such a high frame rate full screen on a 3dish game but golly beets I can't grasp what those people were thinking with that enormous centered art deco typeface for in-game text. That would definitely be worth toning down for any zdoom-styled adaptation.

As far as i know, it's because Genetic Species was programmed in 68k assembler, pretty much like how Breathless was done

I'm sure this was meant for 68030, not below.
By the way, experiments with Sharp X68000, in the form of the latest builds that I saw, showed that Doom can ideally go on 68030. It's all about optimization, which, obviously, was sorely lacking for all other ports on 68k.

Since i'm trying to get the textures of Level07 and beyond, just wanted to drop this.

Managed to get the keys, but since people probably will use it for Doom, so...
I recolored them to match the vanilla ones :D

ahh that explains it... but its certainly a game that deserves a GZDoom remake at some point and for that purpose, your texture dumps is an essential resource

UPDATE:
Added Textures and Floors from Level 02 (Command Base/Director's Lair)

And also, Floors were relocated in a separated folder

Another thing i checked in the game files is looks like the weapons and most of the sprites are compressed in a weird propietary format (no CrunchMania or StonePacker crap).

So, they are unrippeable unless someone disassembles the game, and check how resources are loaded.

And, a little thing i have done yesterday because: why not?
