The question is STILL relevant, even 2-3 years later. What are the various monster packs? Which mods should one say they fit the best with?

And... for my question... Is there a CYBERNETIC monster pack only? = ) I want to play Diabolus Ex, with LITHIUM, to really get that cyberpunk feel, but in order to do that, I also need cybernetic monsters, otherwise the experience will be INCOMPLETE!

So, help me out fellow doom-fans, where can I find a cybernetic monster pack?
DoomRLA's monster pack has a cybernetic enemy mode: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=37044
I'd be interested to see any other cyborg doom monster packs as I'm making a cyborg doomguy mod :D
Oooh...! Cybernetic Enemy mode, you say? QUITE interesting! :D Gonna' have a look at that, methinks!

Meanwhile... I've actually completed work on a first draft of my Doomkrakken Cybernetic Monsterpack remix!! 0_o

For anybody whom wants to play around with cyber-beasts, check it out:

I cant say how long it will be but there will be a vanilla compatible monster mod pack coming soon-ish. It is part of a larger mod two others and myself are making. Each mayjor part of the mod is split up and for the moment at least things seem to be sticking to vanilla values. It will contain new sprites (franks and edits) with most of them having new behavior.

Sad to see there are not more around though.

Well, if the thread still stands, i would like to suggest Shades of Doom; It's a excellent concept and it takes ages to get tiresome.

Also, i would like to sell my fish in here and suggest the Kriegsland monsters-only patch.

WARNING: Shameless plug

Try the PKShuffle.wad that comes with it (you don't need to use the weapons mod)

Or alternatively try separating OMGWPNS' monsters from the weapons, which i already did but that unfortunately lies on my dead PC. (It's quite easy tho)

If this question still stands, Kreigsland (viewtopic.php?f=43&t=57053) offers an enemies only version which includes a wide variety of Nazi replacements for monsters, and Bratwurst (viewtopic.php?f=43&t=52102) with a set of heavily customizable Nazis, including skeletal versions. There's also the Western Patch (https://youtu.be/cAVwp52oVv4) which blends incredibly with wads like epic and epic2, as well as High Noon Drfiter. What I'd truly love is for more themed packs such as these, and particularly more sci-fi ( aliens or robots or something) or fantasy (something like a version of GMOTA with only enemies) monster packs.

If I may bump this thread, I've been liking Spaceman Strife's Legion of Bones: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=65583

If there are any more that anyone wishes to highlight, post it! I'm still trying to figure out an appropriate modset for Lt. Typhon, heh.

No prob! Two more have also been made recently, Stylish Hell and DoomLess, that are also worth a look. The former is meant almost directly for La Tailor Girl and the latter goes well with mods where you play as an evil character.

Stylish Hell: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=64617
DoomLess: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=66551

ADD: I would like to echo GAA's promotion of Shades of Doom. It's technically purely cosmetic, but there's a LOT of variety in here nonetheless: viewtopic.php?t=57310

I'm not sure if the Champions mod was mentioned already, but it also deserves mention: viewtopic.php?t=60456

And more recently, Cyber's Monster Randomizer: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=63901

I'd also like to add ZikShadow's "Untitled's Touhou Monsters Pack"

I don't play that as much, but it's a frequent on many autoloads i've seen around.

I've got three more for consideration.

A: DoomKrakken's monster randomizer was mentioned earlier but not posted on main. This is the most current version of it: viewtopic.php?t=62911&p=1088212

B: On Yholl's Legendoom page is the Legendoomlite version, which enhances certain monsters not unlike the Champions mod: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51035

C: I'm not sure how well this works since the main page states that the mod is wonky on later versions of GZDoom, but here's Babel and its monsters only variant. This one's more subtle than the other mods but still worth mentioning: https://babel-mod.neocities.org/

Because of the release of TerminusEst13's Highway Acceleroid Booster, I'm wondering if anyone knows of good robotic enemy sets, especially ones more in the style of MegaMan. Even better if they're based on the MMX sub-series.

He uses one in the release trailer of HAB, but I can't find it anywhere. Description says it's called rampancy.pk3
