Bug: Turning on Named Kill Confirmations causes the game to crash upon destroying a barrel. Normal Kill Confirmations work fine.

Thanks for reporting!Tesculpture wrote:Bug: Turning on Named Kill Confirmations causes the game to crash upon destroying a barrel. Normal Kill Confirmations work fine.
Fixed in 1.9.1. Changes:
- fixed Named Kill Confirmations crashing the game upon destroying a barrel;
- add new small font to the lists of fonts.

Me and my friend tried to set up some co-op, and my friend who is joining a game I hosted has a crash instantly. An address zero crash.

Hmm. Cannot reproduce on my side on GZDoom 4.2.1.
Does it happen repeatedly?
Can you try on GZDoom 4.2.1 (both machines)?
Can you please send me your Target Spy settings (everything in your .ini file that starts with "m8f_ts_"), or your .ini file?

Welp, I don't have enough information on how to reproduce this crash.Silentdarkness12 wrote:An address zero crash.
An update! Version 1.10 is up. Changes:
- add color codes support in actor tags (now mod authors can paint monster names);
- add an option to display target class name, if it's different from the tag.

Nevermind what was going on with me. My friend apparently had the wrong GZDoom version.

I'd love to use this mod more often, but it lags a lot on my hardware.

Do you have Target Frame enabled?Carrotear wrote:I'd love to use this mod more often, but it lags a lot on my hardware.
Edit: or Position on Target: Above/Below?

Re: [minimod][v1.11] Target Spy: Health Bars++
I used fraps to help with the Framerate numbers.
With 1.11
When on: 65 to 50 fps
When off: 68 to 47
With 1.11.1
When on: 66 to 47 fps
When off: 69 to 48 fps
I also get a message "Warning, cannot get rendering mode"
When I start moving around shooting things the fps drops between 60 to 15 depending on the mods I run. However that's normal to me since my rig is 10 yrs old and I've accepted that, with target spy on is when I start noticing it dropping faster. I'm also using the latest stable LZDOOM build. I hope that hel[ps.

I don't know how reliable fraps is, and if it introduces performance drop on its own. Too see fps, It may be more convenient to just type this in console:
As far as I know, "Warning, cannot get rendering mode" message should appear exactly never. That's a complete mystery to me how you are able to see it. Is it really LZDoom 3.83a?
Also, Precise Crosshair has similar parts under the hood. If you tried it, did you observe performance drops too?
Code: Select all
vid_fps true

Holy crudsicules I didn't know there was a new build up from a few days ago. I'll check that out.
Also I don't think I have any issues with Precise Crosshair.
EDIT: When I run it with guncaster I get that rendering message.
