Pretty much have all the texture bugs, triggers, and laggers fixed.. I removed all the dead weight such as Oculus and gatekeeper. and FINALLY I brought balance to the force..... well...not really i just buffed the hammer of retribution and the bug that prevented you from switching back to your first weapon had been squashed! So far this is the most polished version released... Hopefully im done with the bugfixes.. if theres any more let me know.

Introduction
Finally a game that almost feels like the Diablo Series, Town Area's, Gheed (your Favorite merchant), You have skill systems, weapons, chests, useful items, hidden loot that can boost your stats, monsters from diablo 1 and 2, music from diablo 1 and 2, sound effects from diablo 1 and 2, Voices from Cain during intermissions, and map designs that are as close to the original games as possible. Its insane how much work went into this. Special thanks to Void Weaver, Aheretic, Ogden, Hoover1979, Thetis and others for contributing to this master piece. Story

Diablo The Lord of Terror has invaded the world of Sanctuary to free his brothers Mephisto and Baal. Your job should you choose to accept it, is travel to the depths of the labyrinth and stop diablo before he escapes to free his brothers. This game takes The original Game HERETIC on the doom engine, and transforms it into a FPS/RPG horror game. Now this diablo 3D story will contain, diablo as episode 1, fighting diablo and defeating his essence in hopes his followers will scatter and save tristram. Episodes 2-6 will follow the storyline of Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction. Acts 1-5, plus an additional story which takes place between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. There are no TRUE open maps, Some maps like Canyon of the Magi, Stony Field, Tristram, most of episode 5, are Somewhat open, but not true open areas like you would expect.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DOWNLOAD/INSTALL/RUN THE GAME
Spoiler:
1. If you havent done so already, Download the main RAR file (either Lite or FULL)
whichever you think your system can run... You can download the full pack if you think your computer can handle the textures and effects, if it doesnt you can just run the lite version included in the full...
2. Extract game (Preferably using the LATEST version of WINRAR, less unpack errors that way) into a explicit folder for where you want to play it separate from other mods, and make sure GZDOOM or Zandronum is installed in that folder (you can copy and paste all the Gzdoom or Zandronum files in any folder you wish as often as you are comfortable with space)
3. Download the Patch (if theres one)
4. Extract patch into where you put the main files for diablo 3d in, and over write.
5. Look for "Irontusks Diablo 3D(godly,normal,or lite).Bat and click on it to run.
6. when the game starts, go to options click on Customize Controls and set your controls as you need to
7. In the options you have a choice to change how much experience you want to earn in the Wrath of Crono's Options, if you dont want to change anything you can start a new character... And you're Ready to play.
8. if the hud is missing you need to scale it, using either the - or + button
9. ZANDRONUM users, Run Normal and Lite Zan bat files only, the effects and models for zandronum arent compatible.. yet.

A: Yes, in instructions it tells you how to change the essential file extension from .bat to .sh which allows you to run the load order on another OS
Q: i have an old computer will it run this?
A: depends on the video card, the games spec's are below, but when in doubt run normal or lite versions.
Q: Why doesnt GODLY Version work with Zandronum
A: Compatibility issues with Brutal Effects, still working on a patch for it, unless Zandronum updates to a new version
Q: Why are there a lot of item spawns?
A: I wanted to make every corner and crevice of maps interested to the occasional map explorer (unlike a speed runner)
Q: Can i change how much experience i gain?
A: Yes, in the Wrath of Cronos options in the options menu, it can be set from 0.0 to whatever you desire.
Q: whats the max level you can possibly get?
A: 900 is the current max.
Q: is there support for mobile or touch screens?
A: there is no dedicated support for those devices, use at your own risk. There is no dedicated support for mobile
Q: is there support for other Sourceports like ZDL or Doomsday?
A: This mod is dedicated to the Gzdoom/zandronum Source ports only, any other ports are off the table in terms of support. Currently there is NO dedicated support for Doomsday, delta touch, ZDL. There is some support for VR, although its in a experimental phase at this point.
Q: Why?
A: Because i would have to create support for other ports which take up more time and would have to dedicate that for troubleshooting as well.. And working 2 jobs makes that almost impossible to keep up with Troubleshooting
Q: Who else is working on this project?
A: Well There are contributors to this project, Hoover1979 provided the bulk of HD textures and some of the 4K textures as well, Seilodon/sgtmarkIV did the brutal effects, Void Weaver Aheretic Signor Ogodei, provided the Diablo Sprites. and Thetis authored the Wrath of Cronos Pack, while i ripped the diablo soundtrack and put them in a pk3, worked on the level design of the entire mod, mapinfo, language.txt, sound effects, diablo Voice acting ripping, intermission screens, added additional sprites from realm667 to the mod..
Q: why not combine all your wads and PK3's into one pack?
A: Tried that once... and got tons of errors with it... not doing it again.. Its not worth the hassle
Q: Why do you stress the Readme and instructions so fluently?
A: Because no matter how many times you try to make instructions, some dont understand them and need it spelled out for them, or just ignore them entirely.
Q: is this available on steam or Moddb?
A: Not to my knowledge, unless someone else took the liberty of that, which i dont endorse at this time.
Q: Why not have a dedicated website for this mod?
A: this forum and Facebook's Diablo 3D Project are the only dedicated places for it.
Q: Could Blizzard Sue for using their product?
A: Blizzard owns the rights to diablo AND Heretic/Hexen believe it or not. So suing people for using their resources in their own games, is like trying to shoot yourself in the foot because its itchy... Hence why Median XL's Diablo 2 hasnt been taken down.
Q: Why not take donations for doing this kind of work like only a handful of modders do?
A: Donations are like playing with fire in legal terms... this project is solely volunteerism and i do it voluntarily at my leisure and will remain that way forever, plus i dont want to incur the wrath of Activision blizzard by doing so.
Q: Will there be a final update?
A: Version 1.0.0 coming in about a month or so, is *planned* to be the last update to the mod to fix any final bugs or glitches left... but i wont rule out any updates in the future to add content..
Q: How long have you been modding?
A: This mod was started in 2017, from another mod (Irontusks Heretic * which is Dormant*), in general ive been experimenting with Doom Builder and Deepsea since 2003.
Q: Is there a shop or inventory like diablo?
A: Theres a merchant who i call Gheed (even has his voice) that you buy and sell stuff from, but an actual Diablo 1 or 2 like inventory system with gear? not really, You have an Accessory inventory for special gear you loot which if equipped can permanently improve your stats for the duration of the equip, Normal Armor does degrade overtime like Diablo 1 and 2 though.
Q: How many weapons are there in the game? are there rare or unique items?
A: Each class will find 5 weapons for their specific class, then they will be able to loot 5 more weapons that deal unique damage to certain class enemies from special monsters in the game, i tried adding the Legendoom pack to this mod to add a wide variety but its not like you want to shoot diablo monsters with double barrel shotgun from hell or BFG9000 from God or something like that.... it ruins the immersion.
Q: Will this mod work with VR? is it VR compatible?
A: yes and no, but only with older versions of Gzdoom, and some problems might arise with the newest version of diablo 3D and VR until a newer version for VR gzdoom accomodates it. So until then, i found the oldest version of Diablo 3D i could find and uploaded it for VR Testers...
Q: how do i unpack this mod? what should i use?
A: preferably i would recommend using the Latest version of Winrar, i know it works. most people who use 7zip and get a lot of issues with the unpack and file corruption. i personally Hate 7zip.
Q: I Cant see the HUD, what should i do?
A: Set your Screenblocks to 11 (or just press + or - to see if you can find the HuD).
Q: Why is it laggy when facing an army of sprites?
A: The Current version of WOC essential to this project is not fully optimized. As newer versions of WOC are released optimization should improve.
Q: would love an item system similar to diablo 1 and 2, how can you add this?
A: if thats possible, I would probably need help with that... thats something beyond my level of scripting. Legendoom was close, but it was not compatible with Diablo 3D

I'm sorry to pull the Guidelines on you, but do you have anything done of your project to show us that there is actually a project?
1) Before posting a new topic here, be sure you actually have a project in progress or release. For example, posting a new thread called "Mario TC" with the post "Hey i'm making a mario tc, more info soon!" isn't good enough. Be sure you've got plans for your project. Think about things like main features, help you could possibly want, suggestions you'd like. Or go take a few screenshots. People like screenshots. Just make sure you have a base for what you're going to be working on or no one is going to take interest. (Your title screen really doesn't count.)
2) Just to clarify from the above rule: you need to post something from your project! If a project thread is posted without screenshots, we'll give you some time to get them added, or else your project thread is going to get locked. Not everybody wants to download a large-ish WAD file and puzzle over what exactly is changed, so it helps to show people what it looks like without making them read a wall of text or download a file and be surprised. If the mod has already been released in the thread's first post, screenshots are merely suggested, not required. We can be more lenient for mods where a screenshot does not convey what the mod actually does, i.e. for music and sound patches or mutators.

There are still some bugs from the Wrath of Crono's pack (which is essential for this mod) that Thetis needs to fix, that was one of them. i believe there could be temporarly "Fix" by changing the Aspect Ratio of your game.. Which widens the view. This is common for many classic FPS games which switch from 800x600 to 1920x1080.
Update:
I combined both the elements of Wrath of Crono's (RPG leveling/class/merchant/etc) and Brutal Heretic's (blood Decal's/lighting Effects/monster Behavior) and combined them. Before today, i did experiment with this last year with limited success (getsfxcvar) error message killed the experiment. Now i have eliminated that problem without causing conflicts. Now you have whats called a Brutal Wrath of Crono's mod, and im using it for my Diablo 3D project.
i've hit a wall... im looking to either change or get rid of entirely the Heretic intermission map for Diablo 3D. not sure how to do that yet. any ideas?

Do you not just edit the MAPINFO file to define how the maps in your mod need to be set up? There is a NoIntermission flag that should mean that as soon as that map is finished the next one starts.

Hey Void Weaver, i made some progress on my Diablo project. i made a new thread on the gameplay mods section of Projects titled "Iron Tusk's Heretic - Diablo 3D." It has some more screenshots and a new teaser. The project is going better than expected. (had to make a few sacrifices though, (no pun intended of course)
Would be good if you will use thumbnails by a some nice image hosting like as imgur; also I hope what your first post will be reflects changes and work progress too.

That's sounds a bit confusing for me since I already saw open map in your older demo Heretic Meets Diablo II - WOC mod. But a good dungeon - is a good dungeon anyway.
I sense that you is a big fan of bottomless traps and chasms and i like it, but I don't think what this will be good in diablo-style map setting. I know that you can make fairly good maps like as Halls of Fear (e3m6) in your IronTusk mod, but many of your maps are looks too squarish and symmetrical. So, I hope that your maps in the Diablo 3D will be less linear and more complicated. Btw, I think what you must pay more attention to map decorations also, and I talk not about texturing.
As variant, should be interesting if you have try to realize randomly generated maps system in your mod; maybe through Oblige map generator. For example, like as in unfinished Seidolon's project Hexen: Randomly Generated Dungeons. I believe that feature can be imlemented on the Heretic base also.
Bestiary
I think what the mod with a unique bestiary in a Diablo style will be a very promising course. When I also seen in your older demo Heretic Meets Diablo II - WOC mod a something looks like a D2 Flying Scimitar, I had say to myself: "Wow! Looks that dude really wants make fps-Diablo mod!" So, I hope that you make appropriate bestiary in future for your mod, ideally for me as like in Diablo II Conversion Mod.

That's is! I have waited this combo sooo looong time! But... what if the Thetis will release a new version with significant changes, will your build be guaranteed to be compatible with the new version? I dunno how exactly you made it, but maybe you should make the Brutal Heretic's Extras like a standalone module for better compatibility with the new hypothetical versions?
