Got some feedback for this mod so it can be improved.

- Extremely Hard, even on "Intermediate" Difficulty setting, take to much damage from monster variants.
- Levels are difficult to navigate due to large size and at times excessive detail.
- Appart from Chaingun and Rocket combo, and Dual BFG's, dual wielding concept not as satisfying as it could have been.

Also 2 questions.

- When is the next version coming out? Will it address these criticisms?
- Where did you get these textures from? Did you make them yourself? Is there a download link for them? I would like to use them in some of my own projects.

There will be a new version coming out, dunno when, but I'm working on it. The difficulty has been toned down a bit, several monsters are absent from the first two difficulties and some areas have new pathways and rooms, and some stuff to take cover from enemy projectiles.

As for the textures, there's like 500 different places I got all of them from, and I can't really remember 'em all. On the top of my head though, here's some I used:

http://www.realm667.com/index.php/en/te ... -pack-vol2
Some from here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=31139
And this excellent texture: viewtopic.php?p=684828#p684828

Re: Project Uber (1.5) - New player class!

Post by Darsycho »

Once upon a time, there was a man who was so much of a fan of the super award-winning doom mod "zharkov goes to the store" that he went to training to practice ripping off his arms and regrowing them, and began constructing his own weaponry like a barrel launching sawn-off shotgun and a scorching hot butter cannon.
232 years later, while traveling through space in his spaceship made of bullets, demons start attacking which causes his ship to crash land on earth, completely destroying it. Pissed, he uses his trusty device to turn nearby items into replicas of his stuff, and searches for the one responsible for this shit: The Ubercomputer!

Welcome to Project Uber 1.5!

Okay, I didn't actually start the game, but there were quite a number of errors (spoiler due to length):

What GZ v. can launch it? I try do that on 2.1, but nothing happens, it seems like port just doesn't read the file.

I guess you should update your GZdoom. v.3.2 Might works.

Does it just load up normal doom 2 map01 with nothing changed? If so, try redownloading the mod.

Re: Project Uber! (1.9) 10th year birthday update!

Post by Darsycho »

Howdy! It's been almost 10 years since the last post, and in fact, 10 years since the first release of this! So what better to do than make a big ol anniversary update?

I'll be real, this was one of my least favorite mods, its definitely one of my prettiest and had huge steps up to my previous works, but there was a ton of things wrong with it.
It was far different than what I originally planned back in 2013 when it started development, and of course the difficulty was complete nonsense looking back at it. I actually did a lil playthrough of this a few months ago after not playing this for years, and despite not being on a hard difficulty, I rage quitted by level 5. With all this in mind, and the fact there was a lot of bugs, including one that completely halts the game, it was damn time I got around to properly fixing this mod.

So, 1.9! The difficulty has been significantly tweaked, it's still tough but should be much more fair, lots of stupid ideas have been reworked (like secrets that required rocket jumping), some weapons rebalanced, and just overall I wanted to make this more fun. But there's more, because one thing that was also intended but never was done for a reason or two: Hardy being more of his own character! Hardy was meant to be inspired by Zharkov but not exactly him, and at the time I made this class, I had no idea where to get original voices, so I went screw it and used Zharkovs voice and appearance at the time. That is now fixed, he has new voicework done by CardBoardMarty, and new sprites!

So while this is still much different than what I originally intended, its certainly a lot better in my eyes, and its a mod that deserved better. :>

So, happy 10th birthday to Project Uber, enjoy the update! And of course, there's gonna be more lil updates after this!
