This is... no. Sorry, no. I don't agree with this. You seem to have just taken Adventures of Square and given it a human-breasted cat as its protagonist.

And to expand on the more-than-stolen-idea theory...

- "The Adventures of"? Really?
- The clean, cartoony, overly colorful MSPainty style.
- You've used the exact same shade of purple for the titlepic. With red text and everything.
- The weapon in the first shot. Yeah, that doesn't look like anything else.
- The 32x32 square tiles. Square tiles. Square.
- Is that lemonade in those bottles?
- That vent texture looks almost identical to the one from Square, just darkened.

...what other conclusion am I supposed to come to other than this is a clear-cut Square rip-off?

Beta or not, who cares? That doesn't change the fact that he is using Jimmy's resources without asking him. It would have been a much wiser idea to have waited for when Adventures of Square gets released then ask Jimmy if he could've used some of the resources.

I'm sorry, but "It's an alpha/a beta" is no reason to steal other people's stuff without explicit permission. You ASK to use things that are not yours unless it's stated beforehand that resources are free to use, this is how you avoid stepping on toes. Even if it's a placeholder, you could make it an actual placeholder instead of just shamelessly ripping projects' resources off. There's plenty of things you can do to create placeholders to say "This is X, this is Y". It's not that hard, honestly, and does not require effort, and more importantly, does not piss people off.

If your resources are in such a state that you literally have half of your stuff ripped from other resources permissionless without having assembled anything yet, it's not in a state where you can post about it. You may want to think twice before sharing it.

I did wonder to begin with whether you were joking or had one too many Cobra's.

It's difficult to convey sarcasm in a less-than-obvious situation when one doesn't really have the same audio cues that the human voice can carry.

Also, you really honestly haven't seen some of the grammar and spelling from some people that post on this forum.

That's very true. Onto the topic at hand; I see too many ripped resources from another project and too little original content in this (a couple of extra sprite edits and quickly created sprites isn't going to cut it for me).

I don't see the resemblance. This one certainly looks a lot less like Duke Nukem's Chaingun Cannon, anyway.
