This wad was a personal project, but now I decided to release it. It's not the most original idea, and I know that those sprites are overused, but I can't see any mod that use this sprites wisely, so, I decided to make it by my own.

There are a lot of new things, tough:

BFG and Plasma balls made entirely from scrath;
All wepons have a full working reload, with instant weapon switch when the player is out of ammo;
All weapons have a recoil effect, bulet casings and smoke;
BFG have four attack levels and can also explode, as well the grenades;
A lot of edited sprites;
New and edited sounds;
Enhanced projectiles;
Custom blood decals;
And a few more...

Pretty good. The old D3 weapons needed an update anyways. Only problem I have is that the BFG seems to have splash damage that hurts you.

All we need is the double barrel from RoE now.

Yes, but the Doom 3's BFG have splash damage... or I'm wrong?

Hell Yeah! And I need the normal shotgun too, these Alpha version shotgun is kinda strange. But I can't convert the sprites by myself, they always look crappy. I need to contact KRoNoS and ask him how he made his sprites.

This was pretty good. The weapons seem pretty weak though, namely the Shotgun and Machinegun. Will you be tweaking them? Also, will you be adding in bullet puffs?

Some feedback...

  • I know you don't want to hear me say that the Doom 2.5 weapon graphics are overused, but there are a few things that could stand to have been changed. The pistol seems to be doing almost nothing for the first couple seconds of its reload. At the point where the clip ejects, perhaps you could shift the weapon's sprite up a couple pixels?
  • The shotgun's ejection port mysteriously opens and closes by itself when the player inserts shells into it.
  • Code-wise there are a few hiccups as well. While the shotgun reloads two shells at once - accurate to its Doom 3 counterpart - reloading with only one shell left causes it to add two shells to the shotgun anyway.
  • The smoke effects are nice and subtle, I like them.
  • The location of the Chaingun's muzzle flash seems a bit off, like it's overlapping part of the weapon sprite during rapid fire.
  • I absolutely adore your new projectiles. The plasma rifle feels like it ought to. My only complaint is that the BFG's projectile does not seem to animate, making it seem a bit lifeless.

You're right! That will be fixed soon.

I never sawed smoke graphics made that way, it's simple a gray square with translucency and looks pretty awesome!

Yes, but there's nothing wrong with them. I think it happens due to the fast animation and the recoil effect. I'll try to fix that.

what i really like about this is the flashlight, it looks like the flashlight from Half-Life. i gotta use this for my horror mod! wait, plz..?

Well, an expasnion of it anyway.

But the point stands- it's just not right without the double-barreled shotgun.
