Plain ol' Doom 2 Community Mapping Project

Hello all! I have been looking for some community mapping projects lately that are Doom 2 themed and I haven't been able to find any, so I'm starting my own. You can submit a map to this thread and, upon play testing it, I'll decide if it would fit in with the project. You can take any music track out of Doom 1, Doom 2, or Final Doom. The map itself should like like something that would be found in Doom 2. I have finished three maps as of now and have a few more in progress. You can download two of the finished maps below. Also check out the screenshots for those three maps. The level organization will be similar to Doom 2, with Earth themed levels for the first 20 maps, and then hellish themed ones later. I'm not entirely sure on where the story will take place, but we can discuss that and come to a conclusion. As for as a name for the project, we can discuss that as well. Maps are to be LIMIT REMOVING, not vanilla compatible. Just remember to keep them looking like something id software would make in 1994.

Map Submission Guidelines:
- Must Be in Doom: Doom 2 (Doom Format)
- Uses Doom 2 as an IWad
- No extra textures
- Deathmatch and Coop friendly*
- Varied difficulty settings*

*If these guidelines are not met upon submission, I can modify the level myself to make it work.

Oooooh man I am very interested, as I plan on making maps for some sort of a Doom II remake megaWAD.

Anyways, here's a completely WIP version of my Doom II Map 04 Remake. Play tested this map with my own cringeworthy BD submod, and with vanilla doom on Ultra Violence. I'm pretty sure it's in Doom II format (I dunno, I'm using Doom Builder 2 right now because why not, and for Game Configuration, it's set to Doom II), there are no extra textures (however, there may be some misaligned textures), and I need to fix it up so that it's DM/Co-op friendly. If you're interested, here ye go (feel free to edit the hell out of it lmao).

Hey, so I played the map. The map is cool and all, but this megawad isn't supposed to be a remake of doom 2, just doom 2 styled levels. If you want to make another map that's doom 2 inspired, feel free to let me know, but I don't think this map would work too well with this project. I'm gonna open the MAP04 slot back up. I think there was someone on doomworld who wanted to make a map for that slot.

Can I claim MAP06? I'd love to get involved in a community project like this. I'm not a very good mapper but I'm really interested in a pure Doom 2 action megawad. :D
