Cool mods people might have missed.

Discuss anything ZDoom-related that doesn't fall into one of the other categories.

Cool mods people might have missed.

Post by Kinsie »

We're not robots - we can't find EVERYTHING awesome. So I thought, maybe we can point each other to more obscure cool mods that people seem to have bypassed.

Perkristan's Smoother Weapon Animations (and a DECORATE port)
MarsDoom Preview (YMMV on modern versions of ZDoom, but it should work alright)
Older maps by Daniel
Satanic (WARNING: OBSCENELY HARD!)
Wolfen (by LWM)
Walljumping Minimod
The Final Gathering

That mod you linked to does'nt seem to work in GZDoom r-324, number 2 and 4 was'nt lit up on the HUD and even then the weapon animations did'nt show up. Bug?

Only if it gets filled with mods and not just comments. Therefore I order Kinsie to update his post whenever a cool mod is posted!

Here's a good ZDoom .wad which rarely ever gets mentioned: Mars Preview. As the name suggests, it's a demo for a larger project, though that sadly never got finished. The .wad doesn't work 100% properly with modern versions of ZDoom, but should still be playable and enjoyable.

Daniel's weapon mods have always been complained about, but I enjoy them.

At least he can map very good. What happened to him, anyway?

IIRC, i once remember that he didn't take the criticisms very well and so he "faded away" for some time.

Satanic gameplay mod. Very hard but one of the most original wads I saw ever.

Wolfen MUST be mentioned, even if it is awfully popular at this point. I just can't let people miss out on one of the best Hexen mods out there...
