Decided it was better for me if i had a thread to put my doom related stuff so i can find it later, and maybe someone can get some use out of it too!

Summon: Pyropork

Type: Demon, Could pass as alien

ACS: No


Twisted pig demons from hell, with a flamethrower built into their flesh.
They close in fast and scorch you in flames for their enjoyment. They can explode, so don't let them get close.
Exorcise them with a good few shotgun shots.

Looking forward to seeing the new guys completed!

Also I've got some credits for you:
  • The unknown creature is a recolor of a thing from Shadowcaster (by Raven Software), it has no canon name but is internally known as "Jumpy".
  • The egg is from a sprite made by Amuscaria (formerly known as Eriance) for Demon Eclipse.

The Doomgirl sprites look familiar but I'm not quite sure, because there's a few of them floating around. They don't seem to match Alice Jameson's or Virtue's second version (I can't find the first).

Thanks! This is actually really helpful. I've contacted my friend and he has updated his credits list, even.
Didn't know I was editing Eriance's/Amuscarias stuff! dude does amazing work.

I remember seeing the "jumpy" called "Ceratopsilisk" online sometimes (e.g.), but I have no idea where that name comes from.

You have a superbly clean and very Doom-y style which is really nice to see for all-original sprite sets. I would certainly love to see the Abutor in motion. Awesome job!

Thanks!! I'ts quite a pet peeve of mine when mod stuff doesn't look like the game it's based on, so i strive to do it as faithfully as possible, though it's indeed a big challenge in doom. Also wanting to do some normal, easy, all-original enemies, as there is not enough of that!

Getting some spriting done for the Chubbs and also started on the Abutor rotations. Progressing good now that classes are over! I'd have this stuff finished already but i got a job now, so that's draining some time, but i still can do stuff.

I'm gonna wait to write more stuff about this guy when i end this small project with my friend. Then, i'm gonna go full on with the Abutor. That should look awesome!
I had Chubbs mostly done, i had the rotations and two walk cycles, so i decided to just push through and finish it once and for all. Third creature finished! Hey, not too bad huh? Maybe in a few years i'll have all the Doom bestiary replaced already. I could even make my own game, huh.

FRAMES: (they are not even in a .wad, they are all named, however)

If you are going to use it before my friends finishes the monster, then the animations are like this:
CHBB-
A-B Idle, breathing
C-D-E-D-E (Just an animation, should probably go with sound)
F----R Attack (F---L Preparing to attack, P---R is the attack loop, like the chaingunner, shoots in the O and the R frames)
The rest is the walk cycle
CHBD is the death. I think there is a way to add more sprites after Z, but i am too tired to look for it, hahahaha

Just wanted to say... Very awesome job, dear Stopsignal! :thumb:

I didn't comment it here before (sorry for the mislead), but the first two of your bestiary characters are already part of my Doom mod. (Yup, I modified a little their names and in-game behaviour, and they are now kick-ass!) I keep awaiting for more content from you, specially that hilarious chubby monster you're working on, hehe...

Gotta be honest, i never ever liked the original sprite. Weird body, weird proportions, anime style eyes, pillowshading. Personal opinion, i guess! But instead of just throwing bad words i'm gonna redraw it completely to my liking! When i can. Gotta make time for the Abutor first, hahahaha


I'm finding this thread good for my sanity. Seeing the progress, slow, yet sure is a good way to feel like it's building up to something!
