Did you try selecting an animated texture in MAPINFO?

I don't know too much about MAPINFO. I'm actually reading up on it atm.

*1 minute later*

Holy crap this is cool. I did a test replacing the sky with BFALL1...wow time to go make some animated sky textures. TY

The psx doom sky is generated and there doesn't seem to be an animation of it anywhere (which is a shame because it's a badass sky)

Maybe if someone had fraps or something and recorded it playing an emulated PSX doom. Like do the NOCLIP and get into an area where you can see the whole deal. It won't look exactly like it but hey better than nothing. I WILL find a way! hehe

"It seems they are... Dammit now i'll have to find final doom cheap too.

Edit: I managed to get a full shot of that fire sky but it seems that there's no way to loop it perfectly. Maybe it's just a REALLY LONG animation but I recorded at least 80 frames and it didn't seem any of them were identical."

Have you tried fading the last 3 frames with the first 3 frames? I've done that before to loop something that was too big. For example if you have photo shop and still have those 80 frames you can put these together:

Frame 1 = Frame 1 75% opacity Frame 80 25% opacity
Frame 2 = Frame 2 50% opacity Frame 79 50% opacity
Frame 3 = Frame 3 25% opacity Frame 78 75% opacity

So in the end there should be only 77 frames because frame 78, 79 and 80 are actually mixed into 1, 2 and 3. Does that make sense? :P

AFAIK, the psx doom sky is dynamically generated. I recall having read that liballegro's example fire.c contained a similar fire, but capturing that one would be a pain in the ass.

Maybe, but if there is a similar algorithm available in a compatible-enough license, then it could be feature-requested...

That would be a nice touch.
Have you tried fading the last 3 frames with the first 3 frames?
I guess I could do that but i'd prefer a genuine rip.
