ZBloodX Addon 1.4 Back For More [27/10/2018]

This is designed and tested for zandronum. It works fine in gzdoom though.

So you liked playing blood but then found zblood too watered down from the original? Then this addon is for you. Major features include :
  • Use fire weapons to set enemies on fire! Enjoy them burning down while they scream an orchestra for your ears.
  • Blow up both enemies and yourself with TNT, proximity TNT and remote control TNT.
  • Burn everything down with the Life Leech staff, Or fry them using Tesla instead!
  • Fight demons, ghosts and even body parts in horrific environments.
  • Beware the deeps, for they contain horrible beings.
  • Enjoy all kinds of poison, thanks to very unfriendly spiders!
  • Ever wanted to launch a giant two headed dog into the sky using dynamite? Now's your chance!
  • Kill innocents! Watch monsters kill innocents! Watch zombies chase them around! Just don't spare them...

The maps aren't completely bug free, sorry!

Wad order to play this addon:
1)ZbloodXv1.1.wad
2)ZbloodAddon1.4.pk3
3)The files for your maps.

OR

1) Place all the files in your source port directory.
2) Run the correct .bat file for your game from these files : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FwSA0p ... sp=sharing

Useful extras:
1)Start at an easy difficulty and go up if it is too easy.
1)Make sure to F1 ingame if you didn't play Blood before.
2)Type GL_Use_Models 1 in console : This makes blood splats on floor a lot better.
3)Enable brightmaps with GL_Brightmap_shader 1 in console (Makes monster eyes glow and certain objects glow)
4)You can get rid of choking hands by spamming the use button. Additionally you can kill the hand by hurting yourself with TNT, just don't kill yourself at the same time. (This is faster than mashing use, helpful in a horde)

i´ve played, and think is fantastic... and a question, how to enable blood original music?
i played original blood just a little, but it looks almost the same...

That's because there where some decorate lumps that had been bugged in Zdoom-based ports

Do you mean the mp3 or Midi music?
Zbludmaps should already come with midi music -some of them sound strange because they are from alpha blood-.
If you mean the mp3 music then this wad has them http://www.**LINK_DISABLED**.org/download?file=bloodymusic.pk3.
You can load the music wad last in the load order or put it into your skins\autoload folders.

I might release a "Faithful" patch that removes any extra attacks from monsters so they behave more vanilla if people want that.
Do people have some feedback on the doom patch? I mainly play the blood maps but I'd be glad to fix unplayable situations -Such as stimpacks never spawning in previous versions of it.

This is really good so far,it's very close to the orginal,but I can't get the GL_Use_Models 1 to work,it keeps telling me it's unknown,BTW I am using this on the latest version of GZdoom.

well, i was refering that in game, was playing doom music instead of blood music...
but now with the link you provided, everything is fine...

I've tried GZdoom with a fresh .cfg and they seem to be on by default -I have no idea what is the command though in it, gl_use_models works in zandronum-. Anyway atm only the blood splats use them, if you can see large blood splats on floor then they are working. -Weapon and items don't have their voxel pickups.

Make sure the wad order is ZbloodX1.1, The addon then the maps last. The music is inside ZBloodX1.1 so I have no idea why they weren't running in first place.

Update 1.24 is ready but since my internet is very slow atm I'll delay it til friday. Here is its changelog :

That means there is 2 more free days to add stuff people suggests. You can read the patch notes and if something you want is missing now is your chance. [Next update will probably focus on Akimbo and making all its weapons well animated :) so keep those for later :P.

well, my only two sugestions is that you remain true to the original game.
a litle additions could do well, but nothing that change drastically the source...
and... maybe pack everything in one wad...

just my opnion... i think you have done something very nice so far.

It would be nice if when you picked up the items,armour ,health,ect,ect the message would display the proper names of these,when using doom maps,also it would be great if you could get all the voice parts for Caleb even when he is standing still for a while,he sings songs,and,or whistles,BTW is it possible to fix the opening of the Morning-side funeral home,because if you look at it from a far while the door is open you can see the night sky instead of whats in the funeral home.Thanks,and a great update so far.

Thats not all! the doom patch got some love of its own -in addition to everything above-. The biggest changes in this version of the patch :
*A lot of monsters lost the +missilemore or +missileevenmore flags.
*Green cultists are less irritating -even though they replace revenants.
*Napalm and Tesla respawn regardless of settings. Abusing this is up to you -This should make more mappacks beatable though-.
*Some projectiles are more visible.

Thing is these are problems with the maps. I don't really have the patience to fix\remake the maps for 2 reasons :
1)The maps are done in VERY hacky ways that makes fixing them a nightmare.
2)It probably needs a mapping project to be pulled off. And am definitely not someone fitting for that.

The only patch I did for the maps was monster placements and difficulty levels tuning, just simple stuff.

As for videos feel free to post your own :P It took me a long time just to upload 20 MB :oops:
