Animated TITLEPIC

(Sorry if this got added before.)
Animated TITLEPIC support would be nice. The way it would be implemented is by a series of GRAPHICS lumps and some scripting.
I know that you can use TITLEMAP to do it, but making it usable via a script can be useful, because using TITLEMAP and ACS just to make an animated startup screen seems overkill, at least for me.

Hmm. I thought about trying this by defining a title page in Animdefs, but that doesn't seem to have had the intended effect.

It sounds like an attempt to reinvent the wheel. 'Some scripting' is too vague description of what you need.
IMHO you are asking to introduce yet another subsystem which will be either useless or too complex.
There are so many good examples of TITLEMAPs. Check Austerity for a simple and pure implementation of a slideshow.

I know. But it would be nice if we were able to make use of the TITLEPIC-based animations rather than making a TITLEMAP, putting on a Player Start and then using ACS. Using ANIMDEFS to define TITLEPIC animations would be better and less resource-intensive. It would not actually involve scripting, just ANIMDEFS.

Animated Titlepic would be nice to have in addition to Titlemap
