Making the moving of 3D sloped floors easier

Postby SuaveSteve » Fri Oct 09, 2020 8:03 pm

In the scenario of having a 3D sloped floor that is slanted in a non-orthogonal direction, it is tricky to move it or the model sector as it is following the slope the model is "projecting."

To make things easier for mappers, when not add a flag to Sector_Set3dFloor which makes the target sectors uses their own origins for the slope equation? This will allow the mapper to move the model and targets freely without having to re-align them.

I think the hard work behind Sector_SetLink make our job easy enough. Perhaps a little missunderstanding of 3DSlopes is happing. Can you post some exemple of what you are trying to do? Cus, really, there is no big deal to work with 3DSlopes. :?

Just look at this attachment.

The two sectors outside the center room are models.

Notice how you can move the model sector for the flat 3D floor around with out messing up the target. Now move the slopped model somewhere and notice how it messes up the ramp.
