Re: UDMF maps to Standard format
You are just going to have to convert it in a standard way and redo all the lines manually....if I understand correctly. Should be a bitch to do. As far as questioning your intentions- that is your business. Good luck.

Re: Doom2/Zdoom untitled project.
Thanks guys. You actually get credit in the wad Enjay, as I am using a highly modified version of your "Terrain wad" for some of the world effects, of coarse all the graphics are changed. It seemed like a good idea to use it as a base. All necessary credit will be in game and in the readme. I didn't ...

Doom2/Zdoom untitled project.
UZbUC18SWTo I figured I would put this here to come back to it for updates in the future. The new video shows some progress on the cutscenes. It is missing a lot of content still but it will give people an idea of where the project is going. When the camera moves to "floor level" you are meant to ...

Re: MAPINFO - Precache Texture
Projects with true high resolution resources would be greatly benefited by such a feature. The "texture on a wall" thing only works for smaller jobs. I can say for my own high resolution project I have to make this "cutscene intro" just to load the monsters and maps so the game runs normally. It ...

Re: does precache textures improve performance?
I know I would be very interested in that. For textures AND sprites. I have been creating ways to do such things but this would be a much easier and sensible option.

Re: Is it possible to make a quicksand effect ?
You can make a sector that is a platform and a 3d floor on top of that all using a sand texture. The 3d floor is in place just to cover your hole. When the player crosses a line into the sector you can disable their movement while triggering the platform to slowly go down onto the floor of the ...

Heh, I do like that little song, Captain J. You could probably start some weird indie-digital band if you replace some of the talking with someone singing.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
@CaptainJ, what program are you mixing with? Samples seem really loud in some places, not loud but sampled loud so they seem distorted when played back. Though you could be going for some noise/distortion thing. Keep up the good work.

Re: Bad movies to avoid...
I agree about Iron man 3,but I think that was more the director's fault than anything. He wanted it to be like a spy movie. The Avengers was a different story. Joss whedon knew what he was doing with that movie. I mean he made Firefly one of the best shows ever!!! If Ironman 3 was another movie it ...
